Need help deciding park days...are Epcot PM EMH that bad??

Hi everyone!

My boyfriend and I (who live in FL) will be taking two short trips this year, one in early May and one in mid June for his birthday. We’ve already decided on doing DHS the first trip and AK the second, but I keep going back and forth in when to do our MK and Epcot days. We’ll be staying at Disney resorts so we will have access to EMH. I’ll also be going to Epcot and DHS with my family a day after I get back my boyfriend’s trip, for context. Here are the two scenarios:

MK the first trip and Epcot the second
Pros: lunch reservations at Be Our Guest, low crowds for MK, better chance of Ratatouille being open in June, extra time in the park for Epcot EMH
Cons: both Big Thunder and Spaceship Earth will be closed on their respective trips, Epcot will be busy (8/10 crowds)

Epcot the first trip and MK the second:
Pros: low crowds at Epcot, both Big Thunder and Spaceship Earth will be open
Cons: slightly more crowded than May at MK, “repetitive” trip one day later (see above), no Be Our Guest reservations available at MK

Which would y’all do? Are Epcot EMH busy?

I would do the second option. Keep checking for BoG as you will probably be able to snag an ADR. I love both BTMRR and SE, so I would want to do both of those, AND I think SE will be significantly different after it's refurb and I would want to enjoy the classic one more time if I could.

EP EMH doesn't have as many things open during EMH to spread out the crowds, so I'm not sure those extra hours will really benefit you as much as having a good plan and going on a bit less crowded day.
