I am the planner for our large family planning a trip for Thanksgiving 2020. We will have 8 little ones ranging in age from infant-9 yrs old. 5 of those will be under 3 so strollers (double) will be necessary. I was thinking of POR BUT now am leaning toward CBR with the convenience of the skyliner to 2 of the parks which will mean less folding/unfolding strollers on buses. Right? They should be able to just roll them on from what I've been reading? Which resort would you pick or recommend instead? We have all agreed on a moderate resort to keep the price accessible for everyone.

We preferred CBR even before all the upgrades and the Skyliner. We like the atmosphere, food options, Main Feature Pool and the layout better than POR. CBR has 512 less rooms than POR, so less people taking the WDW transportation. And you are correct, from everything I've read/heard you won't have to fold up strollers on the Skyliner.

If you can take those strollers on the skyliners then that alone is a reason to stay at CBR. The convenience of keeping children in the stroller is priceless at the end of a day.

Wow, how did I not know that CBR has 512 less rooms than POR? I always thought it was the reverse. Interesting!

I do agree with you. While I love both, CBR is more fun with younger kids (its the only moderate with a zero entry pool). Love the theme and food options too. Having the convenience of not transferring gondolas (as CBR is the main connection/transfer point....kinda like TTC) is a huge bonus! Keeping kids on strollers is a huge plus. For this reason alone i'd definitely stay at CBR.

I believe that CBR used to have the most rooms for a Mod, but they tore down buildings for the Skyliner & the Riveira Resort.

We’ve never stayed at CBR but have stayed at POR several times and with two kids (older now but have stayed between 7-12 years old), IMO the buses at POR are a negative even for adults. I’d choose CBR over POR with the new skyliner alone to get to DHS and Epcot. The only transport CBR wont have is the boat to Disney Springs but that’s less of a transportation bonus since its not a park. The pool at POR is nice but nothing special.

I would vote for CBR. Not having to fold up the strollers on the skyliner, especially a double, is a HUGE win.
Another couple of options would be AOA or Pop Century. They are on the skyliner too.

Wow! There's so many variables. (Budget, which park with most visits, kid burn out limit...)

For example: If the Magic Kingdom is your goal, then one of the resorts on the Monorail loop would work great.

My main tip would be to get the best resort that you can afford. Remember to take lots of family pics with characters.

My understanding of the Skyliner is it takes 10 people with no strollers or scooters or wheelchairs. If you have any of those, the number of seats decrease to six. You probably will need to take two or three separate cars. Weather may also impact using the Skyliner (lightning, wind, heavy rain).
