My DH and I are planning our first trip to Orlando with our 2yr old DS and 7yr old DD. We're planning on making a Saturday-Saturday trip in early August and staying off-site. My DH and I have both been to Disney (although it's been several years) but this will be the first time for both of the kids. We originally planned on buying two-day Park Hopper tickets and one-day tickets to Sea World. However, now it's looking like we could spend about the same amount of money and get six-day tickets to Disney instead. Part of me thinks we're better off limiting our stress by taking these kids to only two days of Disney and just relaxing the rest of the week, but now I'm thinking that it may be less stressful if we can spend shorter days at Disney and be more relaxed in touring the parks. Even though I know the kids would love SW, we really want to enjoy our time at Disney. Anyone suggestions?

I'd get the 6 day tickets and do half days in the parks, and lounge at your resort the other half of the day. I think that's much less stressful than trying to cram it all into 2 days.

We go to WDW every year, along with friends of ours. They do fewer days at the park but are there all day long. We do every day at the park (as the kids get older, we'll do a day or two at Universal), but do shorter days. Anyhow, when they get back she's always saying they need a vacation from their vacation despite not going to the parks every day. We're always relaxed.

My suggestion would be to buy 10 day tickets and the non-experation option. Then buy a ticket to Sea World. Depending on what time you leave/arrive, I'd do Sea World on arrival day (if early) or departure day (if late). If not, take a break half way through the trip to do Sea World for the day. Other days, hit Disney, but go slowly and do short days. Save the rest of your tickets for another trip. It really isn't much difference from 6 day ticket to a 10 day ticket. You'll also avoid the price increase that is bound to come (soon).

I'd go for the shorter days at Disney and skip Sea World. Plan on spending more than one of your days at the Magic Kingdom. My 6 year old grand daughter loved the Magic Kingdom. We bought 10 day tickets and spent 5 of them at the Magic Kingdom. Enjoy your trip no matter what you decide to do!
