I've got our dining figured out except for one last meal. I'm trying to decide between Chef Mickey's or Cape May for breakfast. My DH, oldest daughter and I have been to Chef Mickey's, but the little guys haven't.

Is Goofy at Cape May? What about Donald, Daisy or Minnie?

Our other characters meals we have planned are Garden Grill, 1900 Park Fare (for breakfast), Hollywood and Vine and the princess storybook at Epcot.

Any thoughts on what to do would be greatly appreciated!

My family's favorite character breakfast is Tusker House in Animal Kingdom. It has Donald outside for a picture, then inside it was Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, and Daisy Duck. The character interaction was good and the food was better than the normal buffet food. Its our must do each trip.

I don't know much about character meals. That being said I have been told numerous times to steer clear of Hollywood and Vine. I have also heard wonderful things about 1900 Fare. I second Tucker House!

We like Chef Mickey's because all 5 of the main characters are there - Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, & Pluto. Plus, w/ it being in the Contemporary with the monorail running overhead, it just feels very "Disney-ish" to me!

If I were staying in the EPCOT resort area, I would probably try Cape May in addition to Chef Mickey's. Both Goofy & Minnie (but no Mickey) are there in their beach attire which, I think, would be really cute & fun!

But breakfast at Chef Mickey's is a "must-do" for our family.

I don't think Minnie is at Tusker House any longer - I think it's just Donald, Daisy, Goofy, & Mickey.

Are you doing all character meals?

My vote for breakfast would be either Chef Mickeys or Tusker house, and I would most likely pick Tusker house.

One of our must do restaurants and favorite character breakfast is Cape May Cafe. Yes Goofy, Donald, and Minnie are all there decked out in their beach attire. The food at CMC is so fresh and is always served hot plus the character interaction is just awesome, one of the best on property IMHO. The best thing about this character meal is that it is so laid back and quiet that you almost forget that it is a character meal....that is until Goofy comes trouncing up to your table to give you a big hug :goodvibes. As for CM, we have eaten there twice (once for breakfast and once for dinner) and that was all for us. The food is o.k., the characters were always rushing around so they spent little time at the tables, and the service was not that great. We did not enjoy it at all.

Just my 2 cents...When we talk about going back to WDW all 3 of our kids unanimously agree we MUST do Chef Mickey's again. If you haven't done it, then it's worth it to see the Fab 5. Problem is it is the ONLY meal to see all 5 at once. It's definitely the experience you are after here - not the food.

My 1st choice would be Tusker House. AMAZING variety of food, and the characters are a riot! Esp Daisy!!!

But between Chef Mickeys & Cape May, i'd pick Cape May hands down. Simply because Chef Mickeys is HORRIBLE!! Food is lukewarm and tasteless. I didnt like the variety either. The atmosphere reminds me of a highschool cafe. And its so noisy in there (even my DS9 complained of the noise). Characters took forever to come around....after we finished eating we had to just sit there and wait for the characters for at least 15-20 min! I'd never go here again to be honest.

Cape May Cafe! Chef Mickey's is not worth it IMHO. Last few times we went there we were skipped over several times by the characters and too many other families running up before they were at their tables. Food is nothing special either. Cape May is wonderful, the food is great, the character interaction is the best around. Goofy played tic-tac-toe with my son twice. It is a much more relaxed atmosphere and isn't loud like CM.

We took my DGS, who was 23 months at the time, to Cape May for breakfast in September. He was not a fan of characters at that time, but Goofy, Donald, and Minnie were low key with him and he kind of came around. The food there is good and plentiful, too. I also wanted to tell you that we took him to H&V for breakfast in February, and it was the hit of the trip. He's all about Manny and Oso. The food was standard breakfast buffet, but there was a variety and it tasted good. And the character interaction there was special. Have a good trip!

Out of the two OP is deciding on, I'd choose Chef Mickeys because you have the Fab 5. Cape May is a wonderful breakfast, very low key with great character interaction, but you don't get the Big Cheese himself. We dine here because we stay at BC/YC often but I wouldn't travel to Cape May to eat; it's not that good.

Tusker House has my favorite food so it would get my vote for top choice but OP didn't list that as an option.

I also say Tusker House even though you don't list it--it was excellent!
I think Chef Mickey's is overhyped--very noisy!!
