Need help concerning Ca Grill

I have always thought that dining atop the Contemporary and being able to see the fireworks and surroundings would be wonderful. My problem is twofold and I need help from any of you! First, the cost. We will be on a tight budget and my husband about had a coronary when I showed him the entree prices that I found online. Secondly, he is very much a meat and potatoes kind of guy and can't see spending so much for "fancy-stuff that I won't be able to eat" (his words-not mine) Actually, my problem is HIM isn't it, but I guess you all can't do much about that Seriously, does anyone know if we could make ressies and make his meal out of one of the flatbreads, me order one of the delicious "fancy" entrees and our two kids( 8 and 12) order off the kid's menus? I didn't know if guests there had to order from the second course or not. Thank you in advance for your advice!

This is a good question. I would love to go there for desert... they have a great chocolate banana bread pudding. Would I be able to go and not have dinner?

Here was our experience. We got there hoping for a table with view of the fireworks. Aperently, this little trick is now in every guide book so there are a large number of people with the same idea. Since it was our honeymoon we waited for a fireworks table (over 1 and 1/2 hours). The food was very good and fairly expensive (we were grand plan so we lived it up though). We had sushi so I can't tell you about the flatbread. There is a place to view the fireworks outside, but we didn't want to interrupt our dinner for it. I don't think I would do it again, although it was nice once. It was just 2 much hassle and I enjoyed the fireworks cruise more anyway. Just my 2 cents... hope it helps.

we ate there in december for my birthday. when we checked in, early as we were told the restaurant started serving at 5:00, my husband requested a window table on the MK side of the restaurant. we were seated as requested. the food was fabulous. we had the flatbread and i would say it is the size of a personal pizza. it was very very good! my husband had the filet of beef w/BBQ sauce and it was wonderful. i had a tiny taste. it is worth the $$. he even raved about the potatoes served the the meal! i think your husband would enjoy this selection. however, you can certainly order just what you would like. we had ronaldo as our server and he was impeccable. i am glad we did this and now we are trying to decide whether or not to eat there again w/our sons(adults) in december. hope this helps

Do it! We just got back two weeks ago and ate their for my mom's birthday. It was a total surprise, my dad even flew in for the night to surprise her. I have to say the fireworks and the entire atmosphere were just perfect. In fact, I don't think I could have planned it any better.

The food was absolutely divine! We had two of the flatbreads and the eggrolls as appetizers for the table of four. The flatbreads are wonderful, even better (just a little!!) than those at Jiko. Two of us had the pork over polenta.....YUM!!!!!!!!!! Three of us chose the filet with tamarind barbecue sauce over mashed potatoes. Scrumptious! All our meals were absolutely wonderful and worth every expensive penny!!!!

We loved it. Our table was not next to a window but we had a wonderful view of the fireworks. We finished eating before they began, but our lovely server encouraged us to stay as long as we wanted. Your husband can order whatever he likes--just an appetizer if he wants. We found the value and quality excellent, and if you love chocolate, don't miss the Chocolate Hazelnut Pyramid for dessert. I have a feeling your husband will have a better time than he expects.
