Married adults traveling solo to Disney 1st time. I have being comparing prices and from what I have read I still can't tell if the Quick Service Dinning plan is worth it over the Summer room rate discount. Here are my options...

1 - Beach Club for 7nights. Purchasing 6-dayPark Hopper Tics from 3rd party site.
Total = $2,180.90

2 - Beach Club 7nights. Added 7-dayParkHopper through Disney to get Quick Service Dinning Plan. (supposedly still includes room discount)
Total = $2,665.84

So, is the $484.94 difference worth the Quick Service Plan?

I definitely don't want the full service dinning plan b/c the extra cost plus hassle of reservations is just not worth it to me (it being just the two of us).
We have discussed staying at a Value resort (to get the plan for free) but this being our 1st trip we want to stay someplace with nicer accommodations/scenery (I'm one of those people who DOES care how the room looks. The first thing I look @ before price is room pics :blush:)

We are hamburger/sandwich/pizza eating type of people as long as it is GOOD, and like to eat big breakfasts (prefer a bacon, egg & cheese sandwich over a pastry/muffin).
However, it doesn't seem like Beach Club has many options for dinning under this plan and I don't want to be hoping all over Disney to other resorts just to get a good meal that I can eat.

Is there another deluxe resort that has better dinning options under the QS plan?

Thanks!

How big of eaters are you and your wife? Portions are huge and can easily be shared. Are you doing any Table service?

The Mara at Animal Kingdom IMHO has one of the best food courts at a deluxe. I have heard good things about the POly and the Grand Floridian too.

I have stayed at AKL and WL and both are good, although WL food court is a little small.

We stayed at BC last June and I thought the options for QS dining were great -- the marketplace has great sandwhiches (the beef and brie was awesome!), decent breakfast. Hurricane Hanna's offers burgers. Plus, EPCOT is only a hop, skip, and jump away. So, you could easily take a 10 minute walk to England for fish and chips, or France for pastries. BC is a perfect resort for adults and families with older kids.

This all depends on if you want to eat 2 CS per day and 2 snacks per day, over the choice of eating at some TS restaurants....Are you planning on eating any TS while you are there?? If so, and especially if you want to eat the dinners (which are more expensive) I would do MYW plus dining and take the room discount of 25%...IMO

The summer room only rate should be $2337 for BC(7 nights)...based on some random june dates...Approx $292.50 per night, a little more for the weekend rates...Does that sound right?? According to the WDW website...

texasteacher35, actually going later so the price is less.

We aren't big eaters but we like to eat (if that makes sense) especially on vacation. I definitely could see us eating a little more than $32 a day. Though after looking at the menus I'm not really sure since I'm not to clear on what a "snack" actually consists of and if the side dishes can be counted towards a "snack" or "dessert".

The only Table Service meal we will definitly do is at least one Character breakfast. I'm kind of ify about having to make reservations ahead of time and then having to possibly travel just to make a dinner ressie.

Snacks can be anything from a bottled water or soda, to a Mickey Ears ice cream, to a pastry or a coffee in the morning (though at a deluxe, you'll have a coffee maker in the room anyway).

However, note that on many QS places, where you get an entry/drink/dessert, they will let you substitute the dessert for say a bottled water. Portions tend to be on the big side as well in general, so it depends.

A very nice place for quick service meals is Pepper market in CSR.

If you are looking out for a budget, you might want to consider it so you don't have to worry about it. Also if you will be mostly in the parks, you have many options.

We were booked at pop with the QSDP for free. But for this vacation we wanted better accomadations. So we went for a bunkbed room at the AKL. I'm sure my kids will love it there. We are the same we will probably only do 2 ts meals both character and probably rainforest or t-rex. I did the math and I think for us where we have 3 ts meals thrown in we are better off to pay for our own meals.

Plus we have tickets I would really like to use. So even if I do a one day that is antother ticket we won't use on this trip.

Total cost of 9 nights AKL bunkbed pool view 1769.00.

That's great! I don't think that snakcs can be sides or desserts at TS...but I am not sure about that...we have always done the DDP, so I have only used my snack credits out in the parks/resorts...here is a list that I got off the DIS about approved snacks for the "snack credits" CONFIRMED SNACKS 2010 Hope that helps!
