WE are having a hard time deciding on a motel to stay at in May. I called the hojo and the entertainment rate is not available. We don't want to spend alot on a hotel as this is our 3 vacation this year and this is an unexpected one.So we really don't want to spend more than $65 a night is our budget. We want to stay somewhere within walking distance and is clean. Any suggestions are appreciated!

That's gonna be tough. There's not a whole lot within walking distance that you will find under $70. Even the cheapest are closer to the $70 mark, so if you can up your budget in order to avoid the ART, I think you will find it worth it.

Here are my suggestions in that range:

Anaheim Plaza
Dol Sol (gotta hunt for a deal here)
Islander Inn (a bit of a hike)

I found Days Inn for $45.00 a night for June. We just wanted a place to shower and sleep, so it will work for us.

What about Alpine Inn?

I've heard Motel 6 is not a bad place to stay near DLR.

We stayed at best western stolvalls last time.... we liked it! It was clean and had nice beds to sleep in.... the only problem is its a bit of a walk atleast 10-15 mintues so you have to take ART.... the rooms are only about $60 a night (last time i checked which was a few days ago) so its not that bad! Like i said it was clean and a place to sleep so that was what was important (to us atleast)..... Plus there is a resturant right beside it for cheaper meals after the park! And i think if you look at the travel sites i saw it cheaper! Good luck in your hunt!

I have stayed at Anaheim Plaza and it was OK. We had a great view of the fireworks from our balcony and TOT :) The room was clean and bed comfortable.

One word of warning ... stay far far far far away ... did I mention far away from Parkside Inn and Suites. We booked here on a whim to come for a quick trip because it was super cheap. The review we read were mixed, basically it looked like it was going to be a bare bones motel with a bed and shower. We were OK with that, it was cheap and all we wanted was a place to sleep/shower after spending the day at DL. Well we were there all of about 25min ... 20 min of that was trying to decide where else we would be able to stay. It was the worst place I have ever been in! I didn't even sit down.

I just got the Hyatt for $50.00 on priceline for this Thursday. I don't know anything about the hotel, it looks pretty close but not sure about walking distance. You might want to try with your dates and see what comes up.

Looks like my former post never made it-- I agreed the Motel 6 was a great option, a former Red Roof Inn, I've heard it is bigger and has microwave and fridge options for just a little more. It also has a good sized pool, jacuzzi and you could feasibly walk but there is an ART stop right in front of the motel. The Days Inn & Suites was looking really good to me, before I got my ET rates for HOJO, it has it's own shuttle, continental breakfast, (from what I've heard a decent one) fridge and microwave. Don't let it be confused with the one on Disneyland Drive however-- this one is on Harbor. My next option would have been bidding on Priceline for a 3 star up to $45. If you have the time and will to study the Better Bidding site-- there's been some decent 'wins' on Hotwire. You won't get the same value as Priceline though.
