Need help booking internal flights to 'Vegas

Hi,

I have been charged with booking internal flights from LA to Las Vegas for my brothers wedding.

What is the best way to do that? Is there a good website?

Try Southwest Airlines website or cheapoair. But honestly, it's not very far and I would just drive it. Would probably be a whole lot cheaper

Yep, we are flying on the way to Vegas, but driving back to Anaheim. Only takes 4-4.5hrs and its an easy drive. I've done it both ways

By the time you check in, get on the plane, wait for luggage etc, driving might even be quicker!


FYI, we are only flying because I had heaps of points and the logistics of three car seats straight off a trans pacific flight just seemed a bit much...

We normally drive it as well but this site is great for pricing flights you still need to check SouthWest separately though.

We used JetBlue in and out of long beach in LA . More like a regional airport which made it quick to get too . Also closer to dlr than lax. Return flight cost $100 in 2010 if that helps.

We drove between the two as well, it's easier than messing around at the airport. Though having said that, are you going straight there from Australia?

I would look at southwest.com for the best value, or try Virgin America, or Expedia for the rest. Southwest will include your 1st piece of baggage, the remaining I believe you will need to pay for it.

Just to clarify, we will be in Disneyland Hotel for 5 nights. 2-3 of our groups are heading to Vegas for 2 nights and the rest of us follow the next day for the wedding.

I am thinking that Team 1 will fly but I really like the idea of driving Team 2 there and back (it also avoids any baggage issues).

BTW we head back to LA for 3 nights in a rented house then BACK to the Grand Californian for another 2 nights.

Can't wait!

i used southwest for my flights.

approx $59 for our flight lax-las, it was quick and easy and painless. southwest has free boarding, meaning anyone can sit anywhere, so we paid for the early bird pass ($10, now increased to $12.50) to be in the first group on board so we got great seats, and i found the price worth it.

southwest, you get first 2 checked bags free (so totally worth it, as that's a savings of $25-75 over other airlines right there) plus your standard carry-on.

for $69 for a flight, 3 pieces of luggage and destination being only 1.5hrs away? totally worthsies for us. ymmv. otherwise i recommend hipmunk. also, it's a short flight, so if any of your flying travellers have reward points with sister airlines in the usa, might be worth cashing in some points for a free flight, as it's so short...

also, if you're looking truly budget, there's a lux bus for only $69 (i think, it's relatively cheap) that does the journey a few times a day between anaheim and vegas, takes about 4.5 hrs and departs 8.45am, arriving 1.15pm (www.luxbusamerica.com)

i think it would cost more than that to rent a car + gas + insurance, but the driving experience could be fun and might be part of the whole trip experience.
