Need help as a renter on finding someone with points available for a Disney resort

If I understand the rules correctly, I cannot post a new thread asking if any DVC member has points to sell for a specific resort for a specific time period, is that correct? In other words, if I want to rent someone's points, I have to wait for them to post a thread about their availability? Just checking as it's difficult to find and understand the posters who have points and find them timely. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you!

Hi all, thanks for the great message board! I am a long-time Disney vacationer and DVC Member over 12 years. Now my girls are older, we don't travel to Disney too much and wondered if I should sell my points or rent here? I can provide details but like to understand the legitimacy of renting to board visitors and your luck or hassles around it. If you can refer me to a thread that answers these topics, happy to head there for info!

That is correct. We do not allow rental wanted posts. You must respond to someone offering points in the Rent/Trade section. Thank you for not posting any details about when and where you want to rent as that is strictly prohibited.

Also, as mentioned, please do not respond to any PM's you get from someone that was not in response to someone you made contact with in that forum. That is how scams happen. Since the question is answered, I will close this down!
