Okay this may be a silly question from me because I've been to Disney 12 times. However, I've never really been a sit down restaurant kind of person and just get food on the go. Consequently I have NO idea about the types of restaurants that Disney does have, and my husband and I are going there on our honeymoon (we had to delay it because of work and class schedules) and he tends to enjoy fun themed restaurants. Like things that make you feel like your actually in a Rain Forest or an aquarium, etc.

Now I know about the Rain Forest Cafe there, and the one in Epcot with fish and aquariums (I can't remember the name of it), but are there other restaurants there with interesting theming? I wanted to surprise my husband by making reservations at one since we never go out to eat. We simply can't normally because I'm allergic to a pretty common preservative, and I sort of have to eat like a rabbit. Consequently were too scared to try restaurants usually. But since it's Disney they said they can accomadate my allergy at one so long as I call ahead and make a reservation. (Thus my dilemma of needing to find a restaurant before we actually get there) So can anyone recommend a good one with great theming, and let me know what type of theming it is? Any help at all would be so much appreciated and thank you so much in advance!

The one you are thinking of is Coral Reef and I would also like to try that one.

My fav is 50's Prime time. I love the whole throw back theme. T.V.'s on the table, formica tables with vinyl chairs.

Here are some interesting themed restaurants:

Biergarten in Germany at Epcot
Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Sci-Fi Theater at MGM
Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom
50's Prime Time Cafe
Beaches and Cream at Yacht and Beach Club

Our fave is the hoop dee doo revue. Its a dinner show and a load of fun.

Others big on themes: Whispering Canyon: we love breakfast but all meals are good. Sci-fi is a fun joint for burgers themed like a drive-in theatre. The 50's prime time Cafe are two more we like that are big on the themes.

Hollywood Brown Derby is also themed, as a re-creation of the famous original in CA.

My favorites for theming would have to be...

Sci Fi Dine In Theatre
Coral Reef
Restaurant Marrakesh
San Angel Inn
House of Blues

Enjoy...

Hey thank you so much everyone! And CamColt thanks for letting me know about the ESPN thing! Were HUGE sports freaks so I am betting he would LOVE that! :) Plus thats guaranteed to have safe food if its anything like a sports bar! :) I like the idea of a dinner show to, I printed this out so I could save it and gradually find out what he thinks of each place inconspicuously. :) Thank you all so much!

Yes, thats exactly what it is, a sports bar. One side is a restaurant and the other is the bar. They have the typical bar food and we have always found it to be very good.
I just realized though how you had mentioned about wanting to make Priority Seatings. Unfortuantely ESPN doe not accept PSs, but Im sure you could call ahead to explain about your allergy and let them know when you will be dining there. You can also mention it again when you check in and again to your server. My DS has a peanut allergy and we usually just let our server know. We find its not a big deal because most, if not all, of the nonadventurous food he eats is safe. Disney chefs & wait staff really do go above and beyond the call of duty with allergies.
Good luck!
