Currently have POR for 12/27-1/3. Includes 2nd room for MIL and FIL on a scooter. Can book Dolphon right now for a total of $1200 more. Should I do this to ease the transportation issue??? HELP PLEASE!!!:yay:

Personally I would stick with POR and save the money for something else while you are there. We stayed at POR in June and didn't find anything wrong with the transportation, the only thing was at times we waited awhile for the ferry from DTD because it was closing and everyone was going home. Other than that, we loved it. Not to down the Dolphin/Swan resorts, but I don't especially care for them. To me, they lack the Disney feel that the Disney owned properties have....that is another reason why I would say stick with what you already have.

The price difference is something you'd have to decide if you can handle.

I think Port Orleans Riverside is a stunning resort. The landscaping and theming is beautiful. However, you are limited to bus transportation to the parks. With a scooter, particularly if you plan to spend a lot of time at Epcot and MGM, I would think the Dolphin would be much more convenient. S/D are lovely, have great beds, and are in a truly wonderful location. However, I think PORS is more Disney.

If transportation is your biggest priority and you can handle the price difference, Dolphin is probably the way to go.

I also agree that if you can manage the funds, the location and transportation from the Swolphin resorts would be much, much easier for your MIL & FIL. The boat launch is very scooter-friendly, and it takes you to two parks. :thumbsup2 Of course, you'd still need to use bus transportation for AK, MK and DTD, but it's still easier than at POR.
Also, there's a variety of restaurants in the Swolphin, and eateries and entertainment close by that you could walk (or scoot) to right there at the Boardwalk. :thumbsup2
