Need Help and advice

Our trip is from 4-10 May 08, Wife found out this morning that she is tasked to deploy to the Middle East for four months in MAY!!! The military knows that we are taking our trip to WDW during that first week in May (Both of us have approved leave from the military) but in the case that they cannot accomodate us and she has to go at the beggining of May what do I do?? Should I buy travel insurance? If so how much and where??? My trip is totally paid for already, should I just hope for the best even though it sucks that my wife is having to go at all. My other option would be just take DD12 and DD2 by myself to WDW, could be a good distraction for them since Mom will be gone. This is gonna be tough. I don't want her to go at all but if she has to hoping its toward the middle or end of May.

Any thoughts??

I think you should take your children either way. You are right, it would be a good distraction. They will enjoy themselves while you are there with them.

I am sorry that she has to go and I hope that you can all go together to Disney, wishing you the best!

Well, if you wife doesn't go, do you still have to pay for her tickets and dining plan? IF so, I would get insurance or think about changing to a "room only" reservation--you can cancel 5 days out with no penalty (if you aer staying at WDW hotel).
You buy ins. directly thru WDW--it used to be $59 per adult. Also, penalties for cancelling start at 45 days, then at 5 days. you should find out what the 45-5 day cancel rate is (it might be only $100 lost). If you are sure you would know 5 days out, then maybe just wait and see, esp. if you got a really good package deal. But check with WDW--they might have changed in the past year.

Also, if you decide to go without your wife and you get "room only" rate, you could still take your kids, but not have to pay for your wife's tickets and dining plan for her. I this case, I think it would be more economical to have room only and no dining plan--but you just have to pirce it out.
I do not know any details of Shades of Green--but do they have some type of miliatry deployment waiver?
