We are flying into Tampa because it was significantly cheaper than flying into MCO. We need to rent a car at Tampa and drop it off at Disney. We are staying
at the Yacht Club. I think if we rent from Alamo we could drop it off at the Dolphin.
Does anyone know if that is correct?
Are there any discount codes for an Alamo one day rental?
Also, can we use DME to get back to MCO even though we won't be using it to get there?

Does anyone know if that is correct? Yes, both Alamo and National are at the Dolphin.

Also, can we use DME to get back to MCO even though we won't be using it to get there? Yes, you can use DME one way. You will need to call DME or stop at the concierge's desk at YC to make a reservation in advance. The morning before your departure day, you'll receive information on what time DME will be picking you up.

Be prepared for a huge drop-off fee for your one-way rental. I was going to do a one-way last month, but the drop-off fee was $250 in addition to the rental fee. It was far cheaper to keep the car for the duration and fly back from TPA, or just fly into MCO, than to do a one way rental.

Check Mousesavers.com for coupons, discount codes, etc., to bring down the cost of rental. Mary has a great site and good information on how to stack codes, where to find them, etc.

Not necessarily. The OP didn't give any dates, so I picked a Saturday in June (8th) to arrive in Tampa, and return at the Car Car Center on Disney Property on the 9th. Using National, Economy, Compact, Midsize, Standard, and Fullsize, all list at $18.61. Now, when I try to select the car for booking, I get an "Unexpected System Error", so that may be a mistake. But I think it's worth at least pricing out.

I'm doing two one way rentals (Orlando to FLL, and FLL back to MCO) in June, and I got a full size for ~$35/day.

VERY True.

I haven't had to pay any big drop-off fees when renting one way...at least not in Florida. But, as with anything, things can change.

Thanks for the replies. We are arriving on June 18th. I priced it on Alamos site and if I am looking correctly, I don't see any extra drop off fee. It says the price is 18.55+tax, fees.
I hope I am not missing a drop off fee.

Make sure you carry it through to where you see the break down of all the other taxes and fees. That's where a drop off fee should be (if there is one).

Nope, isn't one there...total comes to $27 something.

Most rentals within Florida (except for the Keys) have no drop off fees, but they usually show just certain rates for one way rentals, sometimes higher, sometimes not. Not all rates qualify for discount coupons either. Just have to put in the pick up and drop off information to see what it shows.
