We have a two car detatched garage that we plan on converting to a haunted house for our twin sons birthdays on 10/21. The age group is anywhere from 3-6 yrs old and we don't want to scare the beejezzus out of them.

Anyone have ideas for displays?

We did feeling boxes at a Halloween party a couple of years ago and they were pretty cool. We put olives in one (eyeballs), cold spaghetti (brains), cold mini hot dogs (fingers and toes) and some other gooey mess. They were fun, not too scary.
We also carved pumpkins and lit them (they have battery operated flamless candles that are perfect for pumpkins now).

One food thing that we made that I thought was too cool, we took the little hot dogs wrapped them with a little crescent roll and baked just till the roll stuck then put ketchup on the end (they are mummy fingers). They were very tasty and looked great on a tray!!

I'd like to help you but I have a sick and twisted sense of fun:rotfl: Your kids would need therapy for years:rotfl2:

at our local party store they sell these neat Wall sized coverings that have Halloween themes on them. They call them scene setters. Although for that age group I would go cute and not scary. I have held many a Halloween party for school and Girl Scouts and scary did not go over well until 4th grade.

Frog and I designed, built sets and props for a haunted house fundraiser for 3 years. Lots of fun and work. But for your age group I would suggest cute not scarey. Although I had a few 4 year olds go through our HH and not be affected but their big strong Dad was terrified. :lmao:

The sceene setters are a great idea. A mummy room is not too scarey. If you are crafty look online for HH ideas and you will find all kinds of ways to do one. Make sure you google child's Haunted House Ideas otherwise you may get a little freaked out yourself. :lmao:
