Need good thoughts...

Hey Pete,

I am sorry you are upset about Max, but I have good feelings he will be OK. My friend's dog is a beagle and he has a seizure disorder as well and he has lived for a few years with it already. I do not think it is strange at all that you think of him as your son.

My dog Trevor, who is a Golden Retriever, just turned 11 last month. He IS my brother. He has recently had a slew of medical problems... he has lymes disease, he gets these lipomas all the time that he has to have surgically removed, he had a cancerous melonoma on his paw he had to have removed twice... then just this February he slipped in the snow and tore his ACL in his hind knee and he had to have emergency surgery to repair it and have a titanium plate put in his bone. It took 8 weeks to heal but he is in good spirits now. Max knows you love him and as long as he knows your there for him he will do well.

Much love

This is Trevor 4-5 years ago, he is a happy boy.

Just wanted to add support - also our dog had a seizure disorder and lived forever....once you get used to the seizures, it just becomes a part of life. Good luck Max and Pete!

Sending good thoughts, Pete.

My best friend's dog has a seizure disorder, and he bites at the air too (that is the only way they know he is having one anymore). He is 6 years old and doing fine.

I hope they figure out the problem asap.

My dog and cat are my babies too, so I completely understand.

Lots of good thoughts are heading your way, Pete!!

Pete,

You and Max will be in my thoughts and prayers. I will ask my kitty fur babies, Forrest and Andy, to send there prayers too!

Pixie Dust your way Pete for you, Max and Walter. We will be thinking and praying for you guys.

Pete, I think very few people who are dog lovers think of their dogs as anything less than their "babies". They mean the world to us don't they. I had a cockapoo several years back that had a seizure disorder/epilepsy. His seizures were well controlled with meds. We would always stick the pill in a bit of peanut butter and he loved getting his "treats" everyday. Little did he know how helpful those treats were for his well-being. He lived a very full and happy life.

I send my best thoughts out to you, Max and Walter!

Goods thoughts for Max and you Pete. :grouphug:

He is fortunate to have such a caring person in yourself. We have a situation to a lesser degree with our Abby Fuggles. Requires daily love and attention.

They really are just like our kids. :goodvibes

Pete, I'm sorry to hear about this. I hope all is ok with Max and you find out very soon exactly what's wrong.

Pete ~ I completely understand. As you see from my siggy my babies aren't just fur-babies. Molly, my brittany, had a seizure disorder for 9 years and it didn't shorten her life or take away from her enjoyment of life.

The vet's put her on phenobarbitol (sp?) and it made her sleepy in the beginning. Eventually her system got used to it and I started slowly reducing the amount. She never had seizures again and was very active.

Sending prayers and pixies for a healthy Max.

You and Max are in my thoughts and prayers. Sending good thoughts your way.

Sending you and Max lots of pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Went to the vet yesterday with Max for his regular check up- and it turns out my baby might have a seizure disorder. He's been 'biting at the air' lately when nothing is there. At first, I thought it was just an oddity of behavior. The doctor disagrees and thinks that there might be something else wrong. I know it may sound crazy to some - but Max is like my child. The thought of something like this happening to him is killing me. They ran a series of tests yesterday that I should get back today. If those are inconclusive, we'll have to do some other testing.

So, please think good thoughts for Max.

Thanks,
Pete
Pete, I'm sorry to hear that Max and you are in pain (either physically or emotionally). I'm sending nothing but the best thoughts out to both of you. Dave

I know how you feel Pete. My lively toy poodle is my 3rd child. She had a health scare last month, and thankfully everything turned out OK. I'm sure there are treatments for whatever Max has (Vet medicine has had some wonderful advances in recent years). I'm sending positive thoughts your way! :flower3:

:grouphug:Thoughts are with you......the unconditional, and non judgemental love from your dog can never be explained or measured.

Hope you can get some answers before the cruise....

Oh, you can bet I'll be thinking good thoughts for you & for Max. And no, I don't think you're crazy for treating a dog like a child. My animals have always been my babies, too.
I'll bet the stress of worrying about the furkid isn't helping last minute cruise prep, either. Hang in there!

Pete, it's not crazy at all. I have two children that are MY LIFE! And guess what.....they are pets! So no, not crazy, and I completely understand just how heart wrenching it is to see one of your children go through something like this.

Both you and Max are in my thoughts and my daily prayers. I really hope that the tests come out with good results.
