Need "fluff" book rec' for long flights

I have a number of very long International flights coming up and need some good recommendations for some 'fluff' books. For some reason I have a really hard time reading a book of substance on planes. I usually love murder mysteries/legal mysteries and plan on trying to 'get into' a new book before the flight (would love a rec' for these too), in hopes of being able to read it on the plane, but would love some recommendations for "fluff" books just encase.

I will hang my head in shame and admit that I kind of like teeny-bopper books about rich kids and all their antics. Also, all the 'nanny' and 'celebrity' books. But overall I am looking for anything that is easy to get into.

Have you read any Lisa Scottoline? She writes lawyer/ mystery novels kind of like John Grisham, but better. I love her sense of humor.

The Trouble Shooter series by Suzanne Brockmann is really good. It's kinda fluff because of the love but it also have real plot that keeps your attention and all the characters reappear and build on each other through the books.

Have you read the Stephanie Plum novels? Those are pure fluff and easy reads. You'll find yourself laughing out loud on the plane.

Ohhhh... No I haven't... But John Grisham was my FAVORITE author in high school. I wanted to be a Lawyer when I was in High School (actually got my college degree in International Affairs for the sole purpose of going onto Law School before I realized it wasn't for me) partially because of John Grisham books.

My summer reading is always "light" I save the heavy for the winter
I love the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich The first book is One For the Money

I also enjoyed Big Stone Gap by A. Trigiani(I think that's how she spells it- met her once and she was just lovely)

Oh but my all time favorite book is Charm School by Nelson Demile(I actually really enjoy anything he writes- most of his older stuff are my favorites.)

Any early Brockmann book is good. Some of them are my favorites. Yet...her last one turned me off. The language in her books is getting more and more offensive. I have difficulty reading books where the F bomb is in every other sentence. I won't be looking into any of her newer books. Stick with the older ones in the series.

If you haven't listened to them yet, Harry Potter books are THE BEST books on tape out there. High quality.

I've read The Help.

I once read Jurassic Park on a plane. I seriously wanted to puke. Going with the fluff is a great choice.

If you like the teeny-bopper stuff: Have you read the Twilight books?

My total brain fluff suggestion is time travel romance. It is easy reading and usually pretty amusing. I love Diana Gabaldon (but she is pretty intense and in-depth so I am not sure it would be a fluff one), but there is a whole sub-genre of the paranormal romance genre that might fit the bill...

not realy a fluff book, but given your interests if you have not yet read "One L" by Scott Turow i would highly reccomend it (would not be a bad long flight read).

another not fluff, but easy read and realy interesting is "Escape" by Carolyn Jessop. it tells of her experiences/escape from polygamy.

if you are willing to read kid's books-2 that i over recently are "Al Capone Does My Shirts" and the sequel "Al Capone Shines My Shoes" by Gennifer Choldenko. another GREAT juvinile read is "The Absolutly True Diary of a Part Time Indian" by Sherman Alexie.

The Devil Wears Prada is also one of my favorite chick-lits.

Any of Meg Cabot's books are fluff; she's written some adult stuff in addition to her teen novels.

Bloodsucking Fiends or anything by that author (name escapes me) mindless, fun read. He has a bunch of books about non-vampire stuff as well but they are all good.

I like the teeny bopper books too.. I just read a few good ones..

They are all teeny bopper books they are cute and fun but they have a little edge to them. They are complete fluff!

If you are looking for absolutely HILARIOUS books, try the Celia Rivenbark books. They are collections of essays. I think that she is a columnist in the south and the books are collections of her columns. Word or warning though, when I read one of them on a plane I started laughing so hard that the person next to me thought I was insane. I could NOT get a grip!

Anyway, some of my favorites are Bless Your Heart Tramp, Stop Dressing your Six Year Old Like a Skank, and You Can't Drink All Day If You Don't Start in the Morning.

If you're looking for light and fluffy, stay away from Jodi Picoult. Most of her books are very dark and deal with intense topics.

Jennifer Weiner is a great suggestion.
