I'm so glad I found this site! It's been a wealth of information. I'm hoping someone can help answer this for me. We are going to DL in March and the fireworks are scheduled for 8:45. The first Fantasmic show is at 9:05 and the second is at 10:30 (and the kids will NEVER make it that late!) So where should we sit for the best possible views of both shows, since we won't have time to get up from Main Street and get situated at Frontierland? Is it even possible to see both (with decent views), or should we just ditch this plan and see them on separate nights? All the other tips I've read everywhere say to get in place for the later Fantasmic show after the fireworks, which we just can't do. Thanks so much! :flower3:

We have sat and watched Fantasmic and then could see some of the fireworks, but as far as getting a good look at them from the Fantasmic area, it's not really doable I am afraid. If you watch the fireworks, then just come over to the Fantasmic area and find a place to stand you will get to see it, just not a great view.

If you wait and get a seat by the water, you will have a good view of the fireworks. The things you won't be able to see are the effects on the castle, the projections on the matterhorn, and Tinkerbell flying in the air. But the actual fireworks themselves, you have a pretty unobstructed view from the normal Fantasmic seating area.

There is no way that you can get a good spot around the hub and head on over to the ROA for the 9:05 pm F!. for a good spot at the sitting area. The RDCT is a 15 min firework show and when it is over, F! Will start shortly. If you try to see the first show of F! after seeing the fireworks around the hub, you will most likely will not see it from a good spot. I would just do the nighttime shows separately during your visit since your kids can't do the 2nd F! show.

The best spot for the fireworks is in front of SB castle because it has the special effects lit on the castle during the show and Tink flying. The firework show during your visit will be RDCT which is a great show. F! best spot is right in the sitting area by the ROA. The view of watching the fireworks is decent from the ROA, but it is not the same when you watch it from the hub with the effects from the castle, Matterhorn, and Tink flying in the skies. You can barely see here from the ROA.

Are you only going to be there one night? If not, then I'd do them two different evenings.

I would agree with this if possible for the OP. Why? Because of what mvf-m11c said below.

So much of the firework show can only be seen from main street and the hub that when you watch from ROA you only get about 50% of the show.

I didn't think the view was so bad from ROA. We could see tinkerbell between the trees both times we watched it from there. But yeah, you do miss the effects of the castle and the "surround" feeling of the fireworks.

We had booked the Fantasmic dessert thing this weekend, and the show was cancelled due to bad weather. Due to some complications with our schedule, we were left with tonight as our only option both fireworks and Fantasmic, and I had to do it alone with the three (young) kids, because my husband was busy with a convention thing. The dessert thing was not available, so I decided to try the light tower trick I'd read about here on the Dis.

It was not the *best* view for either show, but we could see both shows reasonably well from that spot. We couldn't see a lot of the things mentioned earlier in this thread for the fireworks show, but we did see Tinkerbell, and felt like we had a decent view of most of the show.

We had a a pretty good view for Fantasmic. We missed the stuff at water level right in front of us because of the sound equipment and people running the show, but could see off to either side.

If you only had one night to see both shows, this is a reasonable place to do it, and it doesn't require hours of camping out beforehand. We got to the area about 8:30 for the 8:45 fireworks show and had no trouble getting a spot at the railing.

Thanks so much, everybody! Looks like we're going to have to view these separately. I really want to be able to experience the "wow" factor of both shows and we do have two nights, but I was hoping to duck out of the park early on the second night. Looks like that's not going to happen now! (Curse you, Disney! *LOL*)

You definitely are making the wise choice :)
