Have never been to Fantasmic before...was thinking of going w/our DDs this year. Here's my question. We're debating on doing the dinner package, cuz I think you have better and reserved seats, right? Which seats are easier to exit the show from? The reserved ones, or getting there early and sit near an exit? But then, can you see the show good from seats near an exit? We were thinking of going in Nov, when the park closes at 7/fantasmic at 7, then maybe heading over to MVMCP, and I want to try to exit quickly. I think we just won't bring our stroller, to make it easier also. So, what should we do for seats?

Seats closest to the exits are at the rear of the theater. (Same as where you enter.)

Stage-Left, Audience-Right.

If you want to sit way in the back, don't bother with the dinner package.

Just be at the theater by 35-45 minutes before the show starts and pick some rear seats.

All the seating is good to see the show, however, in order to make a quick exit, you need to be on the end so you don't have to bother others when leaving. The only thing about that is when you get there early at some point prior to the show the CM's announce to make the "squeeze". You may have been on the end prior, but not now.

As for the dinner package, we did this last June. After dinner at Mama Melrose we were given a pass and it stated we didn't need to be there until 1/2 before the show. Well we get there and the stadium is packed. We kept getting ushered down to the bottom and yet there were no seats. About 20 of us are looking at each othere, like now what, where do we go. We stood over to the side and the CM, who ushered us down, said that we could not stand there because of fire hazard. We told him that he was the one who ushered us down and there were no seats. He started to walk away as he said to another CM that we should have come earlier. Well that was all and DH needed to hear. He told him that we had the priority seating from dinner that stated we did not have to come early and what was the point of paying extra when there is no seats. Of course my DH was a bit loud and a nice family squeezed over so that we could sit and our DS's sat on our laps.

So what did I learn from all of that last year. Still get there early because you are not guaranteed any kind of seat. I should have known better too because of the crowds, however, using it our 1st time I thought it was going to be different. Would I pay extra for the dinner package next time? NO I'll take my chance.

Something similar happened to us in 2001. After that, we didn't bother with ps. We've gotten there early 45 minutes or so, and just sat and people watched. I think the seats on the right facing the stage will be closer to the exit. You return from behind the street and emerge close to the main entrance/exit as I recall. Exiting quickly is kind of a pain.

Thanks for the info! We actually wanted to try Sci-Fi anyway, so maybe we'll take our chances and skip the package. Does anyone have any pictures of the theater?

The waiters are starting to state that you should get to the show by 45 minutes before and that at 30 minutes before your seats are no longer guaranteed.

The Fantasmic seats are not the best, they're just guaranteed till 30 minutes before.

Just an FYI...You will probably at least 2 hours late for MVMVP if Fantasmic is starting at 7:00p (the same time as the party).

Aluminum bench bleacher seating (no backs on benches).

HUGE amphitheater. Seats 10,000. Many times its FILLED.

"Stage" is a good-sized "mountain" surrounded by a 60-foot wide "moat".

Do you think it would take til 9 to get to MK? Since on our last trip w/kids, we didnt stay til any park closings, to avoid the hassle, I wasnt sure how quickly we'd get out. I was thinking we'd take the bus to the Contemporary, then walk to MK and hopefully be there by 8:30...is that not reasonable?

I guess 8:30p is doable and reasonable. So you'll be able to catch the fireworks at 9:15p and the second parade. Good luck!!

Or the bus to Grand Floridian and take the monorail to MK.

Depends on which bus you can catch or, if its a SHARED bus to both resorts, which resort stop comes earlier.
