After reading the title, the smart aleck in me wants to post, "Yes, I can encourage you that it will definitely be hot in the summer!" 
We've been in both June and August and it's HOT. And HUMID. But it's mostly HOT and HUMID at the same time.
That said, if you're prepare, drink lots, take your breaks, don't push too hard, drink some more, you'll be fine. I'm not a huge fan of the heat, and I sweat like a race horse, but I don't ever recall the heat ruining my trip or even bothering me that much.
One tip I found out this year, a couple of layers do well. It may sound backwards, but you're in effect insulating yourself from the heat (rather than from the cold). I wore two t-shirts every day last Aug and was WAY more comfortable than I ever was in just one t-shirt or even shirtless.
