Hello everyone! My dad and I are going back to Disney in January. He suffered a fall last year and shattered his hip. While he has mostly recuperated, his day of out-walking me at Disney are over and he will definitely need a scooter in the parks.

My dad weighs 160 pounds and is 5'7". He still drives a car, too.

There are so many kinds of ECVs to choose from and so many different companies! He'll need this in the parks but could probably get by without it if we went to Downtown Disney for awhile. I'd prefer to rent something for the entire trip rather than messing around renting a new one from Disney every day.

Any advice is appreciated!! :goodvibes

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Post #2 deals extensively with mobility and includes information about several off-site ECV rental locations which people here have used and been happy with. And the off-site ECVs are much easier to use and less expensive than Disney's.

Or, if you want an easier route to the FAQs, click on the link in my signature.
