I just found out that we're going to have to postpone our extended family's WDW trip from this September to Easter week 2010 :scared1:, due to my great nephew being unable to miss that much school at one time. So, for those of you who have braved WDW during this very busy time, any and all tips on how to get the most out of our vacation & not go completely stir-crazy :crazy2:would be most welcome! TIA!:)

I took my wife and two kids to WDW two years ago over Easter. Everything I read said this was one of the busiest times of the year. Well, there's no doubt it was busy. But my DW and I were just thrilled with how nice it was to be in Disney World when it wasn't so hot. The weather was so much more comfortable than June or July when we typically would go, that it didn't matter that the parks were a little crowded or that we had to wait in some lines.

We took advantage of the early morning and evening extra magic hours, weren't commando (trying to pack every possible activity in), and were prepared for crowds so that we didn't get upset when we found them.

In the end, we both agreed that it wasn't nearly as busy as we had prepared ourselves for. The weather was so much better, too.

We're going back again in two weeks for another Easter trip. Hoping that we'll be just as pleased as we were last time. Hope you enjoy your trip next year.

My family is going to be in Disney over the Easter week as well. Our last trip was 3 years ago during the July 4th week. I planned well and knew which parks to avoid on which days, we also took advantage of the EMH and had a really good time. It was a really good trip! I'm trying to be prepared for this busy week as well.

Do the parks do anything special for Easter?

I've asked but they just tell me to ask when I check into my resort! We're staying at a value resort. Do you think they'll do anything?

Every Easter we have an egg hunt in our back yard. I really want to do an egg hunt even if we aren't at home. Do any of the resorts have egg hunts (do you have to be staying at that resort to join?)?

I've also heard that there has been an Easter bunny at DW. Again, when I ask I cannot get a straight answer from the reservation line. Does anyone know ANY info about Easter at Disney World???

Thanks.

We went Easter 2007. It really wasn't too bad. We got there very early and we were able to get on the major rides quickly. It got pretty crowded closer to noon. We left the park after 1 pm and took a nap. When we came back we were prepared to handle the crowds. Doing the "important" rides early meant we could do the the less crowded rides/attractions later. We (the kids) would head over to one ride while my husband or I ran and got fast passes for another rides. It worked out well. If possible, get hopper passes and leave the when it gets too crowded and go to another park. This option allows you the chance to go back to that park later in the week too. We are headed back this Easter and we are soooooo excited.

It's not that bad, we are going Easter Week this year and went during Spring Break a couple of years ago. Honestly I think President's week is worse and even then it was doable, even with the six family members I had with me. You will be ok as long as you are smart with your planning and be sure to make priority seating reservations if you want a sit down meal in the parks. It's really not that bad, if a line is short get in it! If you are eligible for a new fast pass grab one. Go on the big rides first thing in the AM and enjoy the shows during the busier part of the day.

The resorts have tons of activiteis on Easter - pool party, cady scramble, and lots more. You will easily be able to find Easter stuff to do that week.

We are also going at EASTER - a week and a half:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

We go every year at Easter (spring break for us!). After 14+ trips, I'm a seasoned veteran :rotfl: My best advice for you is take advantage of the extended hours in the park. Too many people bring their young kids to the parks for early entry. They are fried by mid-afternoon and melting down by six at night. We always fix that by staying up VERY late the first day we get there and sleeping in everyday after that. By doing that, the kids internal time clock has changed. Kids don't know what time it is anyway . We have pictures of my (now 23) y/o son waiting for the bus at midnight when he was 4. He was fine and we had a wonderful time because after the fireworks are over, the park is empty! You can ride everything! Another advantage to that is the restaurants aren't crowded. We spend most days in a water park or by the pool. It's so relaxing:lovestruc I can't wait to go!!! As for Easter hunts and activities, every hotel/resort has them. Some are on Saturday and some are Sunday morning. You will have to ask for an activity sheet at your resort when you check in. We've stayed all over WDW and no two resorts are the same. Have a great trip!!
