:) Hey everyone...could use some expert advice...

I booked a package back in April for November 25-Dec 2. (2 adults; 13 y/o, 9y/o) at Pop Century preferred room; 8 day park hopper (no water park, etc), dining plan - total of $2673

So far I have only paid my deposit of $200.

We recently joined AAA and I got a quote on the same package above for $2449, savings of $224.

I also got a quote for AS Sports for $2318, savings of $355 - no one wants to stay there this time since we stayed there last year; everyone was looking forward to Pop. I was too, but I like Sports just fine!

My question is, how much of a hassle will it be for me to cancel my current reservation and rebook through AAA? How long will it take to get back my $200 deposit?

I would like to save the money, but I'm hesitant since I have everything all set up already.

Let me know what you all think!:goodvibes Thanks!!

Maybe you could book with AAA, and wait until that is all confirmed before cancelling the reservation direct with Disney? :confused3

Seems that way you'd be covered in case something went wrong when AAA tries to make the reservation.

Duh...good idea. Didn't even think of that! I might do that.:thumbsup2

This was going to be my suggestion as well. Typically it takes 3-5 business days to get a deposit credited back to your card if that is what you used. A cash return may take longer since they have to mail it to you.

One thing though, call Disney and ask for the AAA package and book directly through them and they can just transfer your deposit to the new ressie.

I didn't think Disney would book AAA packages?

Great, I didn't realize you could book a AAA package through Disney. I will give them a call.

Thanks!!

You CANNOT book a AAA package through Disney HOWEVER I had a AAA package and yesterday called them and had them apply the new rate code that just came out for the general public and save another $400 over the AAA rate. so call Disney and ask for the code first and see if it can be applied for your dates and what it will save you code with package is ZQH

Can't say for sure about packages as I never book them, but I do book all my AAA rooms directly through Disney. Usually 15% right off the posted room rates. In fact run the numbers and it may even come out cheaper to do a room only at AAA rates and then buy the tickets. But again I don't do packages so I don't know what is included.

Last year my AAA agent was able to transfer our downpayment from a package we had booked through Disney to a new AAA reservation by faxing to Disney an email from me stating that I wanted to book my package through AAA. They simply transferred all info over and I didn't change anything.

Awesome, I will call my AAA agent and see if she can do this! Thanks :goodvibes
