Need Definitive Answer - VAKL Kidani v. Jambo House

The recent posts concerning requesting reservations at VAKL are unclear as to whether you can request (and receive) either Kidani versus Jambo House at the time you make your reservation (some posts say yes, others say you don't know until you receive a written confirmation of the reservation). Does anyone know for sure?

I understand that if one requests a "value" room, by definition, that is Jambo because no value rooms exist in Kidani. How about a "concierge" room though? Are those, too, only in Jambo, or can one request and receive a Kidani equivalent to concierge amenities and privileges so long as they are willing to hike the 2500 feet to breakfast and snacks between buildings?

We have recently booked at both lodges and yes you specify which lodge you want and will recieve at the time of booking. Also, only Jambo offers conceirge.

it is a guaranteed which building you will be in - check in is in the different building. It is made when you make the reservation.

so knowing which building you need to go in is a must.

I just booked Aug 2009 yesterday for AKV.

Kidani was sold out and Jambo had a Savannah view available. So I booked Jambo. It is a confirmed reservation and will be listed that way when I receive the confirmation. I can see my reservation listed on "My Vacations" on the member website and it is suffixed -Jambo.

I will check in at Jambo House and that is where my studio will be located.

Your building is inventory driven. It is not a flexible option that you choose at check in.

Im sure if there were circumstances such as construction or maintenance, they could change you to a different building to keep you at the resort, but under normal circumstances, you will book based on availability and choice.

Jambo and Kidani are separate booking categories. If you want to stay in Kidani in a savanna view room and it's available for your dates then your reservation will be for "Kidani, Savanna View" not just "AKV, Savanna View". You will check in at Kidani as well.

Kidani has Savanna View and Standard View rooms only, no Value or Concierge rooms. The only Concierge rooms are on the 6th floor of Jambo House.
