Hello all!
My family has struggled with the gift exchange thing for several years now. Fewer than usual will be there this year. Included in the gift exchange this year would be the following ages, 85, 85, 59, 58, 45, 43, 42, 27. Some are married to others, some are children of others, etc. So many of them already buy gifts for each other. There will also be kiddos there, ages 10-18, but we all buy gifts for all of them. We all also buy gifts for our parents, the 2
85ers.
We have done the thing where you bring a gift that could be for anyone and then draw a # and open in order, and then you can steal. We like this because it gives us something fun to do, but with the varied ages, it doesn't work very well. My mother once got stuck with a "Darwin Awards" book
Anyway.... we are looking for some creative solution to our problem. I thought we could each make something for eveyone else, but that got shot down pretty quickly by my Sis who never finishes anything she starts!
I thought we could draw names, and put a $10 limit on it, and put the rules on it that you have to get the person 3 gifts, added up to less than $10, and they have to start with the person's initials. So Betty Lou Smith could open... a beer, a lip gloss, and a Snow Scraper.
So...something that would involve gifts, be cheap, and be fun...creative, give us something to do while we are there. We might even include the kids if its super cheap, like above.
So Budget Boarders!!! Any ideas???
TIA,
Katy
