I just cooked a potato casserole and I want to go to bed. ;) I don't want to put the glass casserole dishes in the refrigerator hot, because I think they may crack(is that true?) If I leave them in the oven on warm overnight, will they keep cooking or just stay warm? I don't want to leave them out where they will get bacteria.

Man, oh man, why did I remember at 9:30 that I was supposed to bring this for our potluck tomorrow!?

Is it tempered?

If so, I'd put a potholder under the dish and leave it in the fridge.

I would say as long as it's not right out of the oven, say let it sit for 15/20 minutes, that it will be fine in the fridge. Make sure you put a hot pad under it. Your fridge will have to work a little harder tonight, but I don't think it would hurt the dish.

Just let it cool a bit so it's not fresh from the oven hot. Then put it in the fridge, I do it all the time with no problems.
