Can someone give me details on the Chip and Dale Campfire? Are the s'mores first, or the singing? How long is the singing? Is the movie last? How does it all take place? I read that the campfire is actually to the side.

Lighting the 2 fires on either side of the stage/screen comes first and goes on thru the whole time. Let the smores begin.Bring your own or buy the fixins there.
Next is the singing.
Then comes the movie or movies if double feature night.

FORT WILDERNESS CAMPFIRE:

. . . bus to Fort Wilderness from almost anywhere inside WDW
. . . boat to FW from Magic Kingdom or Wilderness Lodge Resort
. . . monorail to Contemporary Resort, then boat to FW
. . . most resorts have a separate bus to Fort Wilderness after 5:00pm
4) Transportation to Campfire
. . . take internal bus and ask for Campfire bus stop
5) Time
. . . spring and summer months - 8:00pm start time
. . . fall and winter months - 7:00pm start time
. . . every night of the year, weather permitting

. . . marshmallows and Smores available for purchase at Chuck Wagon
. . . Chip-n-Dale at fire pit for photos and autographs (approx 40-min)

. . . animated or live action outdoor Disney film (approx 1½-hrs)
. . . short walk to a play area
7) Things to Know
. . . free to any WDW resort guest (yes, actually free ! )
. . . one of few places for autographs which do not require a meal or admission
. . . bring a light jacket, as it can get cool after sunset
. . . seating is on benches and bleachers, so a pad is nice to bring for comfort
. . . there are grassy areas if you wish to bring a blanket and sit on the ground
. . . fortunately, they do not grade you on your voice during the sing-along
. . . there is no dress code
. . . plenty of CM's around for child safety
. . . excellent bus transportation before and after Campfire
. . . good activity after the early show at Hoop-Dee-Do-Review
. . . you many bring you own marshmallows-food-drinks-beer-coolers
. . . pizza, hot dogs, candy, nachos, popcorn for purchase at Chuck Wagon
. . . coffee, beer, soda, juices available for purchase at the Chuck Wagon
. . . for rain, they move the sing-along, but you will still get wet

NOTE: We find this to be a really great activity for either the first night at
WDW, or the last night before going home. Good time for family bonding, and
nice to veg-out.

They usually have someone w/ a guitar come out 1st and sing songs while they light the 2 campfires. Then Chip and Dale come out. You can roast marshmallows the entire time. Then they start the movie.

I definately recommend running to Walmart or the grocery store and buying your stuff to make s'mores. It's pretty expensive to buy it from the chuckwagon there. Also we always bring chairs or a blanket to lay on the ground while watching the movie. They do have benches but they tend to get a little uncomfortable after awhile...and sometimes the benches are all full.
