So, we're taking DDs to American Girl place in Chicago tomorrow and need a restaurant suggestion for lunch. We're from the suburbs so we've been to Chicago lots of times, but would like something different...no chains, no Cheesecake Factory, or Pizzaria Uno, or Grand Lux, or ESPN, etc. BUT, we need something in the area of Michigan Ave/watertower thats not too fancy as well. Anyone have any good unique suggestions for us?

Have you ever eaten at Ed Debevic's? That's only a few blocks from AGP. DD and I ate there with a friend (a local) and DD thought it was fun.

I second foodlife at the water tower. I used to live across the street and ate there almost every night. It is great! There is also a Big Bowl I liked and Ben Pao for Asian. Have you ever tried Heaven on Seven? It is in back of the Grand Lux building. It is cajun food in a fun atmosphere.
