Need cheesy hashbrown recipe help (the patty hashbrowns)

Several years ago I had a roommate who made a variation of cheesy hashbrowns that I have never had anywhere else. I think it was hashbrown patties in a baking dish with either whipping cream or evaporated milk poured over them, and I think maybe parmesan cheese was in the recipe. I don't remember it being "cheddar" cheesy. Does anyone here know what I am talking about? I did a google search and haven't come up with anything that seems like the same dish.

Thanks . I think I found that the recipe I want is called roadside potatoes. Kind of a strange name for what it is .

That is a strange name. Hope it comes out good! Where did you finally find it? I use allrecipies most of the time but their search engine is not the best. Always in the market for a good recipe site!

Yes it sounds good. Want to share where you found it? I make the kind with cream of chicken soup and cheddar, etc. but I like the Parmesan cheese idea-my picky DS would eat that one.

It is always useful to have another good side dish recipe other than a salad when you have to take something or are having a group over.

please share the recipe! My MIL died 11 years ago and those are the potatoes SHE made and she didn't leave a recipe!!! My DH and my IL's have been trying to recreate it since she died...no success. I would love to be able to pull this off!

It sounds really good - where did you finally find the recipe? I tried searching 'roadside potatoes' on allrecipes and it couldn't find anything (and asked me if I meant 'woodside tomatoes' instead?!)
