For my ds6 birthday I am having a "Hay Scavenger Hunt" where I will put several dozen small "prizes" for the kiddos to find. There will probably be a fair amount of girls so gender neutral would be great.

I went to the Dollar Store and found
1. Larger toy soliders
2. Yo-yo's
3. Lots and lots of candy (gum, lollipops, etc)
4. Lip glosses for the girls
5. Matchbox cars and larger Monster Jam type trucks
6. Two fake looong snakes-those suckers look real!!!

Can anyone else suggest anything that I can purchase in-store. I was thinking of Oriental Trading but I need everything soon.

Thanks

Do you live near a Michaels? Ours had 15-packs of glow-bracelets for $1, tons of them right by the registers.

Do you have Wendy's fast food near you? They have sheets of 6 coupons for free frostys for $1 per sheet. I just got 2 of them to put a coupon in each of dd's treat bags for her bday party.

We love doing the scavenger hunt. I think we've done 5 or 6 of them. Things that I have done for scavenger Hunts that the kids have gone gaga over:

Get the multi-packs of already opened baseball or football cards (usually there are 50-100 cards in a pkg for $4 or $5) you could also go gender neutral and look for yu-gi-oh or webkinz cards. I usually dump the open package in the basket and let the kids choose 5 or 6 each. The kids love them even the girls. I've gotten them at Target, Rite Aid, etc. My local hardware store also sells them.

Target has the glow stick bracelets in their dollar section 15 in a tube for $1.

The little sample tubs of play-doh. My grocery store had a multi-pack of halloween colors for $3.99.

How much time do you have? TRU, Walmart and Target usually have super bouncy balls in packs of 9 for a couple of bucks in the party section. I open the packages and have the kids take one each. If you can't find them there you could hit the bubble gum machines and get some. But the best price on them tho is on e-bay. I got 144 of them for $3. I was able to use them for 5 b-day parties.

Stickers or temporary tatoos. You can usually find some in the dollar stop section at Target.

Themed pencils or erasers. iParty usually has some for 10c each. Sometimes you can find them cheap at Target or Walmart or Walgreens.

The Learning Express (and sometimes Walmart in their toy section on the wall) has little sticky creatures (I've gotten Frogs, Lizards and Aliens). They're the kind you throw and they stick to the wall. The packs will usually have 5 or 6 in one pack. I usually open the packs and have the kids take one each. You can also find these in the bubblegum machines.

A package of those cheap plastic halloween themed rings - you know with spiders, skulls, etc.

The little bottles of bubble stuff that they use for weddings.

Umm, okay, this is cheating, but I save the unopened left over McDonald's/Fast Food Kids Meal toys. I'll throw these in a bucket. The kids go bezerk of these things.
