My family is going to Disney next week and we were wondering where a good place to eat would be. Usually we just bring our own lunch, but this time we thought we'd try eating somewhere inthe parks. There are 14 of us , 8 adults and 6 kids. The kids don't eat too much. One day we will be at AK and MGM and another day at MK and EPCOT. Does anyone know how much Pizza Planet costs? Thanks for any help you can give me!

AK has a meal deal plan where you will buy a ticket, right at the counter, that will give you a fu;; meal and drink and then two tickets you can exchange for a soda and a snack(ice cream or popcorn) later in the day. The adult voucher is around $13 and the kids is about $6. This is the best deal in the parks.

You can split a double burger and just buy a second bun for $.80. We never buy the second bun but just cut the burger in half. You can also buy the sandwiches without the fries, all you have to do is ask. Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bills in the MK have great toppings bars and are very filling.

Even though my kids love Pizza Planet it is overpriced.

We enjoy Tuskers at AK or the Flametree Barbque. I think you can use the AK vouchers at both places. I did use a Quick and Casual at Tuskers and got Grilled Salmon, rice, drink and a slice of carrot cake. The voucher was 11.50$ I bought it at Hotwire.com.

One great thing to know about the AK meal deal (buy at the park) is that the child pizza and the adult pizza it Pizzafari are exactly the same... both taste like cardboard from what I hear, but I like bland pizza myself... so you can use the $6 child meal deal for anyone that wants pizza!

in MK my favorite cheap eats are:
Columbia Harbour House
Liberty Square - Magic Kingdom
New England Clam Chowder - served in a bread bowl $4.99
kids mac-n-cheese, cookie, drink $3.49

or

Casey's Corner
Main Street - Magic Kingdom
Grand Slam All Beef 1/4 lb. Hot Dog - $3.79
Great American All Beef Hot Dog - $3.19

Thank you so much for all your replies! This will really help.

Does anyone know how big the pizzas are at Pizzafari? i was wondering if they would be big enough for two kids to share. Thanks!

The pizzas at Pizza Planet and Pizzafari are personal pan size. They run about $5-6 depending on toppings. They also offer combo meals that include a drink and salad and they cost about $1.50 more. There is a kid's meal available but I am not sure of the price.
We no longer eat at Pizza Planet since all four of us got very sick on our last visit there. We don't eat at Pizzafari anymore because the pizzas are basically the same as Pizza Planet and we definitely don't want a repeat experience of the Pizza Planet episode.
In my opinion, the best fast food in any of the parks can be found in the Tusker House. It has become one of our "must visit" restaurants.

Tusker House and Flame tree Barbeque are good values in AK when you use the meal vouchers
At MK we share a Kit Carson salad at Pecos Bill. They are huge. We also like the chili there. We also get a double burger and extra bun at Cosmic Ray's. You top the burger at the toppings bar so the meal becomes huge.
At Epcot you may want to try the food court at The Land. They have different selections such as baked potato as well as sandwiches and such. Also Wonders of life has a food court with chili bowls etc., although I found the selection wasn't as great as the food court at the Land. Keep in mind that neither food court is large.
That leaves MGM. There really isn't a lot of choice there. You may want to try the outdoor eating up by Tower of terror. They have nice salads, baked potatoes, fries etc. Sometimes we go to Sci Fi Diner and share an ice cream sundae while we absorb the atmosphere.

DTD has a new shop called The Earl of Sandwich which offers any sandwich for $4.95. They are large enough to split. A bag of chips is $.95. A great deal and they are wonderful.
In MK- Pecos Bill has the best fixings bar around and either cut the double in two or purchase a second bun.
In AK- go with the voucher deal- excellent deal and Flame Tree or Tusker House is the best choice.
In MGM- I would say ABC but I would skip eating here if I were you.
In Epcot- there are many choices- so many places and you can pretty much share everywhere since they are large portions.
Personally- I would just put x amount of $$ in weekly so that I could enjoy eating at the various places without really thinking about price or join Hotwire savings and purchase meal vouchers.
Sitdown restaurants- about $30 each but 2 can eat on these easily and enjoy wonderful food. This is if you enjoy lunch being your largest meal.
Counter service- $11 each and really only one can eat off but everything is prepaid and you can go where you want.
Regardless- enjoy your trip.

The chicken meal at Cosmic Ray's is considered a great deal, and their sandwiches are big enough to share.

i thought Pecos Bills in MK was unbelievable. We all got cheeseburgers and plain fries - hit the fixin bar got cheese for the fries, sauted mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, etc. etc. etc. We were full for the rest of the day.

I agree with most of the poster (except we have never had trouble at Pizza Planet... my kids love it). But my suggestion would be .........order less than you think you need! If someone is still hungry after finishing, you can always go back and buy more, but you can't really carry those leftover fries or hamburger around with you the rest of the day!! I hate wasting food. Try sharing meals to start and order more if you are not full. Some of the portions at WDW are quite large............Have Fun!.......P

Is this really big enough to serve 4 people (that's what it says on Deb's board)? That would be great for $15.99.

Thank you so much for all the advice. We went with the vouchers at AK. We got one pizza meal for each of the 5 kids, and there was pleanty left over to feed three more adults with a piece or two left over! The kids were so excited that they got to get ice cream too, we would never have been able to afford all that otherwise. Thank you to everyone, I would never had known about the vouchers without this board! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Pinocchio's Village Haus at MK is pretty inexpensive.
