Need Cheap Eats Please...

Lunch at Trail's End at Ft. Wilderness. It has a great buffett for $10 for adults I believe and $6 or 7 for kids, includes drinks. The best value on Disney property.

Didn't read all the posts but here is my suggestion....

Buy a double cheeseburger for $6.49 or close to this price... and add a second bun for .50 cents... so you get two cheeseburgers for $7.00 instead of paying $5.49 each burger... or close to this, been awhile since I bought one. And go to a place with a fixin's bar... our cheapest meal was this... don't laugh...lol

Bought one double cheeseburger meal, two sides of soup...
Total I think around $12.00 maybe or so for three people

Took burgers off bun, slapped bun together w/ cheese for DGoddaughter to have w/ fries... used the fixins bar to make a salad for each of us... cut up burger on the salad, ate with soup and we all drank the free water...

Another idea, in AK you can all buy Kid's meal vouchers for $5.99 each I believe... they include a kids meal, drink, another drink and snack... you can get a personal pizza, side and drink for lunch (kids meal) and then a soda/water and popcorn/icecream later what a bargain!

I know cheap... but hey when you are running to WDW every monday for a quick visit the big restraunts are not an option.

My ds and I just at wolfgang puck express in Downtown Disney Marketplace. OMG it was amazing!!! We both had a great lunch for $17 incl tax.

I second this one. My DH and ate at Wolfgang Puck Express, and it was great. We both a meal and soft drinks for under $20.00. The food was terrific. I had a side of their garlic mashed potatoes, and it was actually a bowl of mashed potaotes. You will get the food for your money.

One of my favorite ways to cut costs at counter service restaurants is to ask for the sandwich only, not the "meal." Most counter service places only list "meals" that include drink & fries on their menus. So if you are ordering for 3 people order one "meal" with 2 extra burgers/sandwichs/whatever. You save a few bucks that way and probably won't miss all those fries anyway...they give you a TON!

Also- all counter service restaurants will give you a cup of ice water for free. All you have to do is ask.

At the Beach Club Resort--a pretty quick hop from epcot and MGM--we LOVED Beaches and Cream. Great burgers, and yummy ice cream treats.

In downtown disney--earl of sandwich is yummy, filling, and by disney standards--cheap! Wolfgang puck's express is also good, a little more expensive, and a little more interesting menu.

You will eat very well at all three of these places on a $10-15 per person budget!

Myself and my dd(17) order alot off the kids menus. The adult portions at most Disney restaurants are just too huge for us. We had a wonderful lunch in the castle one trip for a total of $20.00 for 4 of us. We all ate off the kids menu without any problem and we were right in the heart of Magic Kingdom!

I didn't get to try the Earl of Sandwich on my last trip, but did peek inside at the menu and prices. I thought it was VERY reasonable, and the menu had some yummy listings! I can't wait to try it in December! I think passholders even get a little discount there.

Cosmic Rays is excellent. We at there at around 11am, and didn't eat again until we were home from the airport at 8pm. We were fine.

We purchased 2 Q & C vouchers for our trip at $11.50 each. I was not sure we would use them or if they were worth it, but we stopped in Morroco at the Tangerine Cafe. DH and I each got the chicken and lamb plate that included bread and two sides. Then the cashier told us that we each got another side dish, a drink and dessert. The dessert we picked was a chocolate peanut butter cake that was incredible!!. The total bill came to $42 and we only used the vouchers. I split my meal with DS3 and still had leftovers that we took back to the room. My DH is a big eater also. I hope this helps. If you do your research the vouchers can save some money.

Three restaurants come to mind to get good value for the money:

Earl of Sandwich

Chefs de France - Try the "French Menu" for lunch - $14.95 per person includes french onion soup, sandwich and salad and creme brulee. This is our sit down meal of the day and well worth it if you are in Epcot.\

Cosmic Rays - You can get the rotisserie chicken dinner for a family.

We just got back. One night we ate at the counter service restaurant in japan. It is very small and out of the way, it was pretty empty. The best part was that I fed four people dinner for under $25. WOW! My husband had the combo platter for just under $8. I had the teryaki chicken for under $5 and my kids each had a kids meal for under $4 including drink!

The portions aren't huge, big enough for us, but we are not huge eaters. At those prices though, you could get two!

This is one of those hidden treasures of Disney World. Most people have no idea that the place is there. It is a very pretty setting and a nice place to escape the hustle and bustle of the park.

Going at Christmas-will definitely try out the Japanese meal. We all love Asian, feeding 6 is not cheap!

I believe that this is the Yakitori House. I will check it out on our next visit.

Just got back from a 16 day trip and we ate off site before or after going to the parks many days and saved big bucks and found some new favorites in the process.

At Magic Kingdom I found Pinocchio's and while the lines can be long and confusing you can get a child's hot dog meal there for $4. It is a quality hotdog and bun with fries, mandarin orange slices and small drink (soda or lemonade). They have a fixings bar so you can load up the hot dog and then put cheese sauce on your fries and enjoy.

We really enjoy the China counter service at EPCOT. It is quiet, out of the way, good scenery and the food is unique and reasonably priced. Mango smoothie, red bean ice cream (sounds strange but is really good) along with rice and meat bowls, egg rolls and wonton strips (a true DW bargain $1.49 for a huge, really huge bag of cinnamon and sugar coated strips) I swear, there are enough there for a family of six to share and be stuffed. I am going to add them to my list to take before heading over to one of the concerts next time.

Marakesh was a new one this time, we split the chicken and lamb plate and it was very tasty. We enjoy trying new things, if I wanted to eat regular food I would just as soon stay home.

Tried the vouchers at Beaches and Cream this time for the first time and wish I had thought about sharing cause I got really sick trying to eat the double cheeseburger, onion rings and just a couple of bites of dessert. Learned my lesson the hard way. My sympathies to the fellow DISer who had to endure my being ill. I am soooo sorry and embarrassed.
