need Character meal advice

We will be at Disney 11/19 thru 11/25.

I want to have one character meal while I am there. I have a girl 6 who loves the princesses and a boy 9 who says he doesn't care about a character meal but will probably enjoy it nonetheless.

I have been agonizing over which one to do. I am considering:

1. Donald's Breakfastosaurus on Thanksgiving because they don't have many reservations for that and we could get into AK a bit early.

2. I would love to do Cinderella's castle, but it is booked that whole week.

3. 1900 Park Fare - the only down side is that we would have to have a late breakfast and that would pull us away from one of the parks.

4. Akershus Princess Storybook Lunch - we would have to schedule late in the day, like 2:30. This might be too late for lunch for my kids.

Any advice? I am in information overload and can't make a decision.

Thanks to all.

Elizabeth

That is a toughie but here's what I recommend. I have read the most complaints on these boards about Breakfastosaurus (little character interaction, feeling rushed & crowded). CRT is probably a moot point as it is always booked. Since your son doesn't care as much as your daughter does, I would go to one of the princess ones. On the one hand, 1900 Park Fare is only a monorail ride away from the MK so it wouldn't take to long to get back there. BUT, I personally would go with the Akershus option because of the time you got. It's been reported that when you eat at "off" meal times, you get way more character time as it is always slower then. People have been giving the princesses at Akershus rave reviews lately anyway about how much time they spend and what a great option it is to have if you can't get into Cindy's. You can't go wrong with any really, but that's my 2 cents. Good luck!

September '05 POR for our 10th anniversary :love2:
fall '06 taking our girls to the WL! :grouphug:

I Have A DS 12 and a DD 8 Both of them love eating at 1900 Park Fare for dinner and they also loved crystal palace for dinner and also Chef mickeys for breakfast. DH and Me also love this! :goodvibes

Oh! I forgot the newest one! In case you hadn't heard, 'Ohana at the Polynesian (also a monorail ride away from MK) just started offering Lilo & Stitch (a boy fave) at their character breakfast last week. It might be harder to get in as word is spreading but they've never hosted a meal that I know of so that would be very cool!

3. 1900 Park Fare - the only down side is that we would have
to have a late breakfast and that would pull us away from one
of the parks.

Why would you have to have a "late" breakfast? Is that all that is offered? Or do you consider 8:00 a.m. late comparatively since that is when EMH starts and too close to a park opening?

If you want breakfast, I think Park Faire would provide the most for both your children and I hear the food is really good. We will find out for ourselves in November.

You didn't mention dinners, but I would try for a dinner at 1900 PF. You'd be done with most of your park touring for the day and can relax with princesses! Let us know what you decide.

By late breakfast, I'm assuming you mean after 11 am. Don't worry about the late breakfast at 1900. Just get to the mk when it opens, then take the monorail over to the GF for late breakfast. By that time, the early advantage on crowd levels are gone anyway. I also wouldn't worry too much about the late lunch time. Just get a snack to tide em over.

At 1900 Park Fare, all I could get was an 11:20 breakfast. The early ones are booked up.

I think I have decided to do the Akerhaus for the 2:55 lunch with my daughter and also do the Donald Breakfasaurus at 8:00 am with the whole family. I know it has gotten bad reveiws, but it will get us in the park a little early and that might be cool.

Thanks for all the advice.

Another choice is the Character Breakfast at Cape May Cafe at the YC/BC/BCV complex - easy to go to Epcot or Studios from there

I am not a fan of Donald's Breakfast at AK - found the ratio of guests to characters was too high and the food was always running short

cheers
