The theme for our WDW trip next month is "surprise". Our child will have no idea we are going until we arrive and she will not know any of the things we'll be doing until we are there doing them. (By pure luck, I got CRT for lunch for the day we'd be at MK (pixie dust!). Everything else was booked all week at CRT.) She'll think it's cool to eat in the castle but her favorite character is Minnie. ::MinnieMo

What character meals can we can be certain Minnie will be at? She would be quite surprised!

If you want to see Minnie Mouse, be sure to dine at Chef Mickeys. It's a great, fun place and with a big buffet, you're sure to find food you like. Don't worry that some people complain about the food at Chef Mickeys. It's pretty good and the characters make it a really fun dining experience. We like good food, but while at Disney, I prefer Fun places, good photo opportunities etc. Chef Mickey's is great for that!!

You can go for Breakfast, Lunch or dinner and you can even take the Monorail to the Contemporary Hotel.

Another thing we've done is not gone to a park on the first day when we fly into Orlando and checked in, swam and then gone to Chef Mickey's for dinner. That way the main characters are photographed, autographed etc.without line ups and it gets you in the Disney mood. Then we've travelled on the Free monorail around the park, got back off at Contemporary and gone back to the hotel. Thus saving one of the hopper days.

Enjoy! :earsgirl:

Chef Mickey's has Minnie and it's great food! We went there last year and loved it (and we're going again in a few weeks!)

Liberty Tree Tavern has Minnie in a colonial outfit- also good food, family style. We went there last year early (around 4:30) and we got to see her several times.

Another place that we see her each year is at the Liberty Tree Tavern character dinner. And she has on her beautiful pilgram dress!!

who else is there?? am interested in character meals without a buffet since i don't really care for buffets. is that and crt the only 2?

We just got our first Liberty Tree PS. Yea! It's one of the few character meals that we have not eaten at yet.

When my daughter's favorite character was Minnie, we dressed her in a little Minnie costume for the character meal at CM. I love looking back on those pictures!

Here's another vote for Liberty Tree Tavern. Great food (Thanksgiving variety) and great character interaction. My 2 DDs love it because Chip and Dale are there but they enjoy Minnie as well. :sunny:

I didn't see it mentioned yet but Minnie is also at Cape May character breakfast. (DD is a big Minnie fan too :) )She has a a turn of the century type swim wear on and is very cute. (Also, Goofy, CHip & Dale and I think Pluto or Donald is there) CM is usually less hectic than Chef Mickey's. We've found that we get a lot more character interaction there.

I am so glad you said that, we are going to Cape May because Minnie is there and I was getting worried I had been misinformed since noone was mentioning it.

We were very rushed at Chef Mickey's so we wanted to try somewhere else.

Chef Mickey's is the only place where Minnie appears in her red polka dot dress, right? Is she more likely to be there for breakfast or dinner, or doesn't it matter?

That darn Minnie dress is my DD's favorite outfit. She'd wear it every day if I let her...shopping, playing, whatever. ALL of the photos from our last Disney trip show her in that dress. People looking at my album probably think we either did a heck of a lot all in one day, or that I only took one dress for DD to wear. :teeth:

Liberty Tree Tavern for Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip & Dale
and Akershus at Epcot (Norway) for all the princess: Belle, Aurora, Alice, Jasmine, Ariel, and it's not a buffet! Nice food! Very nice desert!!!!

Jan, just to let you know. Liberty Tree Tavern is not a buffet. It is served family style. They bring out a plate of meats, bowls of sides, and you even have a gravy boat. It is all you can eat just not buffet style. HTH

Thanks for all your posts! I made ressie for Cape May----sounds more relaxed, I've read all the great posts on their food, it's a nice boat ride to MGM, & Minnie's outfit sounds adorable! I tried to see if Chef Mickey's had availability and they didn't but it's ok 'cuz I think Cape May will do nicely! ::MinnieMo

she's at Hollywood & Vine also. But not in the red Minnie dress. She wears a white/cream ball gown. She is very pretty.

I think Hollywood and Vine got rid of characters a long time ago--maybe two years or more. There is no character dining at MGM now, which is a shame.
