need car rental advice

we will be staying onsite at universal so we won't need a car for the 1st few days, but later on in the week we want to travel around a litttle. is it cheaper to book by the week or should we just book 2 or 3 days and that would be better, i don't know if i read it hear but i remember hearing its cheaper by the week. Help anyone with good advice??? thanks

Based on my experience, just call the companies you may rent from and ask them which is cheaper. Give them specific dates and they will let you know which will cost less.

Then book it (no deposit needed) and keep calling back regualrly to see if the rate has gone down.

Weekends are generally the cheapest. I think weekly rates are often cheaper than just a couple of weekdays. Most companies have weekend or weekly specials.

I originally booked back in july for a two day rental. After many changes I eventually got a five day rental for about the same price.
