We have reservations for OKW in September, and have reservered a few nites at BW preferred view. We have never stayed at BW PF ( 2 bedrooms).
Can you give me your thoughts on what building, room to ask for ?

I assume you mean preferred pool/garden view (not preferred boardwalk view). The choices would be a main pool view, quiet pool view, garden view on the far end facing the Swan/Dolphin (I don't believe there are any 2 bedrooms facing the Village Green). See this map, the choices would be facing the right side of the map.

Do you want a more quiet area? Then you may want to request top floor and a quiet pool view (although those tend to be farther from the elevator). The only set of elevators is J on the map.

DebbieB,

Just looked at our res. it says...
Boardwalk Villas
2 bedroom Boardwalk View

so where is that ?

Thanks.:cool1:

Then you would be facing the boardwalk and lake, between letters K and Q. I would request top floor, you will get a better view and it will be quieter. Or if you want to be close to the elevator so you don't have to walk as far, request that. Again, the only elevators are at J but there are stairs at the far end and perhaps in the middle (not sure).

Higher up is considered better for seeing at least some of the Illuminations fireworks - also, farther down the building. Lower floors make pool access easier, make people watching easier - and closer to the elevators is closer to the lobby. Lower floors are sometimes noisier.

Whenever we've checked into BW, we aren't given a choice of rooms - just handed a room key and told where we are.....rooms often appear to be preassigned.

Don't request close to elevators for a 2BR boardwalk view because none of the 2BRs is close to elevators. All are over the Big River Grille and the area between the Grille and Jellyrolls. About the only thing you really need to request additional is non-smoking (unless you want smoking) and anything second floor or above (from all of which the view of Illuminations fireworks is fine; over the years we have been in almost all the 2BRs with a boardwalk view). There is only one 2BR on the first floor which is right on the boardwalk level where the DVC store/models were and that is the only one you probably want to avoid.

Does this mean there is no longer a DVC model avaliable to view at the Boardwalk? We are considering adding on there, and were going to take a look at the end of March during our trip.

Ok only checked in twice as an owner but many times before as cash guest . I've never been given a choice either. Here's the key go have fun.

There is a model and office still at BWV , it just moved down a little bit. Haven't been in to know if its a full 2 bedroom or not though.I would guess it is .

There is at least one two bedroom right over the Screen Door. That's about as close as you can get to the elevators and still overlook the Boardwalk. We stayed in it.

I've found that too, rooms are always preassigned. I did check in early one time and found out that our standard view was on the first floor, I was able to get switched to an upper floor.
