Well reading posts/websites we've decided HoJo is the best place for us to stay for our upcoming June trip to DL (shocking, I know!:rotfl2:). We've never been to CA before and I've read a lot about HoJo offering discounts for several things. What is the cheapest way to book generally? We have AAA which will save a little but I don't know how much. I've heard there is a DisBoards discount? Is that right? is it better or the same as AAA? Can you do that online or do you have to call in? Also the Entertainment rate has been discussed. Where do you buy the discount book? How much IS the discount book? Is it worth getting "in hopes" of a good entertainment date coming available (First week of June) or is it a waste of money and should we stick with AAA or 15% disboard discount? Will they change the price later if a better discount comes up and we've booked already?

whew! Sorry for the questions. We're so used to DisneyWorld we're really thrown for a loop with this new experience!;)

I would just book now using the disboards discount. If the entertainment rate becomes available you could always purchase the book prior to your trip since you do not have to have the book when making reservations. I believe the book costs between $25-$35. It is well worth buying if the rate becomes available. If the entertainment rate becomes available later you can call in-house reservations and change to the new rate. You can book online now using the disboards promotion code of lndb.

Bumbershoot just posted this on a thread in the last couple days but here's a breakdown of the discounts:

AAA, Senior, AARP: 10%
DisBoard Discount (same as other fan site discounts): 15%
AP Discount: 20%

Ent. Rate: 50% of rack rates

You can view the rates and available dates here at the HoJo website and you don't need the ent. card when you book, just when you check-in.

thanks for your reply! Here's another stupid question. Do you have to have an entertainment book that is specifically for the Anaheim area or do all entertainment book's have a HoJo coupon that can be used anywhere?? I know I'm sounding really dumb right now...:sad2:

Here's Bumber's quote from the other thread:

Ent. Rate starts at 59.

Disboards rate 15% off rack rate.

AP holder rate 20% off rack rate.

vs

AAA:: 10% discount off of our room rates.

AARP:: 10% discount off of our room rates.

Senior Discount:: 10% discount off of our room rates.

Government Employee:: 10% discount off of our room rates.

Military Personnel:: 10% discount off of our room rates.

CSEA:: 15% discount off of our room rates.

You can get your Ent. book for your local area. All you really need is the card in the front of the book which is universal and not area specific. Some people actually purchase just the card off of ebay.
