My future daughter in law (28 yo), enjoys reading and she reads a variety of books. I am wondering what new series are out there or to suggest a good book.
Thanks.
I love the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. I just started reading it a couple of years ago. There are now 8 books in the series and a wonderful TV series on Starz that has become a big hit as well.
It is romance, historical fiction and a bit if sci fi all in one.
I agree with Laine Moriarty. Her books are great. The Martian was one of my favorite books I read this year.
Kate Morton's books are also really good. The Historian by Kostova is something else I'd suggest.

The Outlander series has been around for a while, chances are your DIL will have already read them, if they appeal to her at all. Might I suggest Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire? It is the first book in the relatively new October Daye series.
Alternately, a gift certificate from Amazon or a bricks and mortar bookstore.
Another Outlander fan here, but I agree that she may have read them already if she's an avid reader. A gift card may be the way to go. Or does she have an e-reader? I LOVE my Kindle Paperwhite. If she doesn't have one, that might be a good choice.
