We are taking my DD to Disney next year during her birthday. She will be turning 7. Like most of you planning fanatics, I already have our entire itinerary planned, with the expecetion of her actual birthday. I have asked her what she wants to do and the only thing she has requested is breakfast at Chef Mickey's. She has no interest in going to BB to get dolled up. We're doing breakfast at Cindy's a different day, so she has no desire to switch it. I think I'm going to book a Celebration cruise for the fireworks, but the rest of the day is open. We have the parks scheduled on the other days. I told her we can move whatever park she wants to her day, but she said no. We will of course ship presents down for her to open and will order a cake, so that will kill some time. I tried to talk her into doing the Perfectly Princess Tea but she said it was too long last time :) She's killing me!!!! Anyway, any suggestions other than the things I've listed would be welcomed. We will also have our DD4 with us, as well as an 8 month old (no sex known yet!).

Thanks! princess:

Well, on one of the days at the park, I would definitely go to get services and get her the birthday button so she will have that to wear for the actual birthday. Your daughter doesn't seem to be completely obsessed by princesses, so that means you can try other things. What about the pirate cruise? I've heard that girls often go as well. And maybe your four year old could go too. It'd be something different for her to try.

For DD's 7th birthday we did:
- Dinner at Garden Grill with Disney Florist leaving a huge stuffed mickey there for her to get with her cake at dessert.
- pirates cruise from beach club
- illuminations cruise
- BBB

There is also the wonderland tea party, its about an hour with Alice and the mad hatter. Its Dd's favorite activity of all time!

How many times has your DD been to WDW? It sounds as if it may be enough so that she's really a bit unimpressed with the whole thing.

Sounds like you may just have to plan a day and call it good- She is at WDW rather than Chuck E Cheese after all.

Great ideas so far- keep 'em coming!

We generally go once every two years. She LOVES Disney, is begging us to move there, so I don't feel she is bored with it, but just spoiled. We have not held back in terms of experiences/meals, so now there are no longer many things that she hasn't done that kids her age can. That's why I'm struggling to come up with something very unique.

What time of year will you be there ? If you decide not to do the cruise, maybe the Pirate and Princess Party would be fun. We went in October and did Mickey's Halloween Party and it was special.

Give the cake hotline a call and get a special cake brought to the table on her birthday. What about doing something like the family magic tour? Is she into Hannah Montana? She could go to the BBB at DtD and get done up like Hannah. Give her some Disney Dollars and take her on her own mini-shopping spree.

Does she have any other favorite places to eat?

We're surprising DD for her fourth birthday in a few weeks. I can't wait to get down there. She's going to flip at all the things that we've got planned for her. On her birthday we start off with breakfast at Crystal Palace, then it's over to the BBB for some pampering, then we'll play at the parks and do things she likes like visit the princesses and other characters, then we'll go take a rest for a little while. We're meeting my uncle (he works at AK) at the Grand Floridian for dinner at 1900 Park Fare. The next morning we have breakfast with the princesses at Akerhaus and then that night we're going to the P&PP. DD is going to love it.

Best of luck planning your DD's birthday. I'm sure whatever you decide will be very special for her.

we go every yr for our dd's bday, this coming trip will be number 5, I will be making her a sash that says 5th Birthday, we are doing Cindy's for lunch as she still LOVES the princesses, I have already bought some ballons (inlcuding some heart shaped) that I hope to fill somewhere, and have waitng for her at the front desk when we go down for breakfast, she will also be getting a phone call from one of her disney friends, that will be one of our friends, we will schedule a photopass shoot, probably at ohana's since we did the grand last year, it is only 25 dollars with the cd prepurchase and if she likes getting her picture taken it can be her photoshoot, you get a CD with all the photo's 99 dollars and that includes all the photopass pics taken in the parks (but not all rest pic's see a thread on this for more info) and since we get a yrly picture done anyway, the cost is about the same, it is only a 1/2 hour and you can have as many people in or out of the pictures as you like. Definatley get a birthday button and have a great time!
Has she doen 1900 park fare with the stepsister's? It's a hoot... we ALL loved it... she might like that too... a poster suggested I get or make a crown with the number five for the picture which I think is a great idea as we put the number in them so when I look back I will know which year it was...

How about the two of you go see Blue Man Group at Universal? My daughter loved this when she was 8. :cool1:

What about a pony ride at fort wilderness, followed by dinner at Hoop Dee Do revue, followed by a viewing of the water pagent. End it with a quick trip to the contemorary arcade (take the boat after dinner to the contemporary from ft wilderness)?

These are all terrific ideas! I have not thought about many of them! I'm getting excited to plan now!!

Don't you have to be w/a party of 8 or more to do the Celebration cruise? I thought I read that somewhere b/c we are celebrating my DD 6th birthday there in 6 weeks and I would love to do the Celebration cruise? Who do you contact to do this?
TIA

Would she enjoy going to the Alice tea party or the Pirate cruise? It would give her some alone time, since she's now 7 and old enough to do something alone? ;)

The pony rides is a good idea. You could do that & follow it with the campfire sing-a-long.

Cirque Du Soliel is wonderful if she hasnt been. You could get a babysitter for the younger 2 for this one and make it a special night out for her and you and DH.

You can mention you are celebrating a B day at ALL your ressies if you wanted and she will get a free dessert and be sung to ;)

How about a visit to the spa for a pedi and some new flip flops?

Go rent the little mini boats or a surray bike for the whole family

Or arrange for a group family photograph.

Okay, now I have TOO many ideas!!!! Really though, the ideas are fantastic and I will definitely look into many of them. Is anyone able to clarify on the Celebration Cruise? Is there a minimum number of people you have to have?

We are planning the Celebration cruise for DS's 11th bday in Dec. There is no minimum, max is 10. You pay for the whole boat regardless of the number of people ($220 for 8 person, $275 for 10 person). They decorate the boat with banner and balloons and have minimal snacks. You can order additional items from catering. They leave from marina of GF, Poly, Contemporary or WL half hour prior to Wishes then return 30 minutes later to same marina. I asked and they won't return to another. You can book 90 days out.Hope it helps. http://www.allears.net/btp/spcruise.htm

Also check out gift of a lifetime website, we used them for DD's 5th birthday, expensive but worth the price. http://www.giftsofalifetime.com/
