DH, DD15, DS8 and I have been to Pop in 2004, 2005, and 2006. This year DH and I are going in September for our anniversary without the kids. I tried to get Pop, however, we ended up with ASMo. I just noticed on our reservation page that we've been moved to a preferred room @ ASMu. I know absolutely nothing about Music. It doesn't look as heavily themed as the other All-Stars. Could those who've stayed there give me some opinions on why or why not you liked or disliked it? Thanks.

All Star Music is my favorite Disney owned hotel.
It tends to be quietest of all of the values.
It also has a lot of nice landscaping.

I like the food court at All Star Music for a quick grab and go breakfast on the way to the parks.

I like the fact I can pay for a preferred location and know I will be close to the main pool. food court, and bus stop.

I enjoy the theming at All Star Music. I love seeing the children having fun getting squirted by Three Caballeros (Donald and friends) at the All Star Music pool.

BTW:

All Star Music just underwent a refurbishment of all of the rooms and was completed in June 2007.

All Star Music now has the privacy curtain which divides the sleeping area from the vainty area.

All Star Music is only value resort that has this curtain.

Here is a photo I took of the new privacy curatain at All Star Music:

It is a nice touch and a lot of value guests are excited that All Star Music has the privacy curtain.

I am hoping when the All Star Sports rooms are refurbished between june this year (2007) and Feb. (2008) they will add the privacy curtains to the Sports rooms as well.

Here is a website with photos of the newly refurbished rooms at All Star Music.

Look at the Jazz Inn section with new posted:

Please see my info thread for more of the reasons why I enjoy All Star Music so much.

I've got to tell you...your posts about ASMu are really tempting me to try it!!!! I'm planning a Christmas trip next year and I'm strongly consdering ASMu for that trip.

Have you ever been there during Christmas? Is it insanely crowded? I'm thinking it might seem that way since all three All Star hotels are in such close proximity to eachother.

Have you ever had a car while staying there? Is it hard to find parking? Is there alot of traffic on the road that connects the three All Star hotels?

One other question...when they refurbished the rooms, how thoroughly did they "gut" them? Did they just repaint and put in new carpet, or did they also replace fixtures like sinks, beds, tubs, showers, toilets, bathroom tile, etc?

I know my questions are kind of bizarre...yup, that's me...bizarre!

Thank you for any insight you can provide!!! :)

ASMu is my fav all star resort. I think it's the most "adult-oriented" of the three and when I was there in May I had a renovated room in the Broadway section - very nice. I wish I could be there in September, but ASSp was the only value where I could get an AP rate.

Enjoy your trip!!!

I have not been to Disney at Christmas time so I do not how busy it during that time.

I hoping to visit during Christmas sometime in the near future.

Yes, we take our car quite often.
There is a lot of parking close to the All Star Music buildings--but not so close that one can hear car doors slaming in the rooms.
Our car sits in the lot unless my DH is playing a round of golf at Disney and takes it to drive to the golf course. We also use it to get to the FW parking lot when we go to the Hoop-Dee-Revue. Other than those times we use Disney transportation.

During our last couple stays (we usually go during September)we have only shared buses when going to or coming from the AK. The 1 time last year that we shared a bus on the way to AK our bus was less than half full since the pervious bus to the AK just pulled out minutes before so we went to All Star Movies to pick up additional guests.

We had a dedicated bus to and from the MK, MGM and Epcot.

When All Star Music was refurbished they got new beds, new mattresses, and
new furniture including new larger TV's. They also got new curtains and a new bowed (curved) shower rod which gives a little more elbow room in the shower.

The tubs, sinks, and toilets remained with the exception of the Family Suites.
The family Suites also got a new sink and counter top to match the decor of the kichenette.

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:
