So I already paid for our reservation and we are staying at The Anaheim Marriott Hotel on Convention way. I am really concern that it is too far away to walk for my dd who is 4. We have the ART passes but I am concern that it will be too packed. I really wanted to stay at the DLH, but when we booked the package they didn't have any rooms available. They have opened rooms up that have views of DL, but it would mean a $1,000.00 more for the room. Is it worth it for the convenience? I am even thinking about switching too the HOJO, is that hotel closer? I picked the Marriott because of the (somewhat) indoor pool. I need to get an answer too my agent today! Thanks in advance for all your help. We will be leaving in 23 days and we are so excited!!!! This is our first trip with our DD to DL!!!

The DLH hotel is not super close unless you use the monorail. The Monorail will only add convinience at most half the time though. It's a nice perk but in reality it's not a very big bonus.

I would plan on using ART and making the most of it. The convention center Anaheim will most likely require a 4yo being carried on shoulders half the trip if you walk.

Personally, I would switch to the DLH. I really love the walk through DTD during the holiday season - great decorations, lots of music. And of course the monorail is very convenient if you don't want to walk and seems to have fewer breakdowns during cooler season. The parks won't be open as late during the off season week so you won't be quite as tired.

And since it is your first trip with your DD, she will love the holiday decorations at the DLH!

Wait, you mention the pool being a perk...did you know that the DLH hotel is under renovation. I don't think it is even open. Just FYI.

I've stayed at the marriott there, very nice. I like Hojo's too. I've never stayed at DLH but I have stayed at Paradise Pier, I would not spend the $1000 difference on a hotel. Thats insane. You can do so much in the parks with that money. Try Hojo's. I don't mind taking the ART either. Maybe I'm not that picky but $1k is a lot of money to me

I just stayed at the Anaheim Marriott a few weeks ago, and walked back and forth to the parks each day. It was a 25 minute walk for me (an adult who walks a lot, and walks pretty quickly). It might be a bit far for a 4 year old.

Are you planning on a stroller? The walk can be a bit much for a 4 year old. We stayed at the Hilton right across the street. But I wouldn't pay the extra $1000 for the DLH. The walk from DLH isn't as far but it's not as convenient as the GCH. We didn't take ART but we did have the stroller (by about 4-5ish) our DS goes down for a nap. And we didn't want to walk back to the hotel knowing that DS would wake by the time we got their.

I loved HOJO! Their pool is awesome! The walk is comparable to the DLH (if not closer!)

Thanks everyone!!!! I have decided to just stay put. We are bringing the umbrella stroller and we do have ART passes, so we will be fine. Thank you so much!!!!
