Need Ariel's Grotto infomation.

My 3 year old son is in love with Ariel. (OK, actually, he really likes Ariel a lot. He's in love with the "sea witch". What can I say? He's an odd kid . . . )

Anyway, he's really looking forward to meeting Ariel next month, so I was planning on taking him to the Grotto. Does anybody know the hours she is usually there? Are the lines awful? When is the best time to go? Anything else we need to know? Thanks!

I believe it opens at 10 am, even on EMH days. I would suggest going as soon as it opens. We tried later in the day and it was a 50 minute wait. It was less than 10 the next time we went right after it opened.

Last time I visited Ariel there, it opened at 9:30am, but I double-checked Steve Soares' WDW Entertainment Site and it said her hours were 9am - 8:30pm. Hours can varry though depending on park hours and season, so you might want to check the page next month to make sure. Her hours are also listed in the Magic Kingdom Times Guide you pick up when you enter the park. And yes, lines are long except for right at opening. Last time I was there was around 9:30am and it was already a 20 minute wait. When I left, it was a 45 minute wait! I'd recommend getting there as early as possible.

Will you have your son stay in line with you, or do you have an extra adult to keep an eye on him if he wants to play in the water/fountain play area? If you're the only one with him, I'd get there as soon as it opens, if not before. If you have someone else with you, it's easier to hold the spot and have him play/unwind in the fountains.

We went a few weeks ago and the Grotto opened at 10am. The queue got quite large even before 10am though, and when the Grotto finally opened, we still had a long wait as Ariel likes to spend quite a bit of time with each child, or in my case, adult!
