Need AP room booking experts

We have been getting AP's for years but I've never booked more than one room for ourselves. Is it true you can book up to 3 rooms with your AP?

Next trip my GD and her SO are joining us for a few days. We are staying at the CR (hoping for an AP discount in Nov). She would like to stay at POR (the first hotel we took her to when she was younger and it was Dixie Landing).

Would I be able to book her a room at the POR and use the AP discount (assuming one comes out). Would I have to go there to check her in? I would want their names on the resort ID since they would be paying their other expenses.

Disney now requires that one adult AP holder be in each room......

My understanding is a passholder can book up to three rooms.
Last year it was one room per passholder.
Although I do not know how the three rooms works if staying at different resorts. You probably will find out at booking.
