We are going for our 11th wedding anniversary (had plans last year for 10th but my dad got very sick and had to cancel). We arrive on the 7th of September which IS our anniversary. We are only going with the 1 day base pass so I would rather use that for an entire day, not just the day we arrive. So we need a resort or DtD restaurant for a great anniversary dinner on the 7th (yes, I know I need to book it asap) Any suggestions? Buffet or table doesnt matter.. could be a character one as well. I just want a really nice dinner for our anniversary night :)

My suggestions are Artist Point or California Grill first, but these are signature dining 2TS. My 1 TS suggestions would be Kona or Spoodles.

Happy Anniversary!

Thank you! Its been a long road with us so this will be a nice short trip! Hubby doesnt know we are going to Disney.. so hope he doesnt mind! I will just show him the comparison in price between FREE dining at Disney for 4 days vs the Siesta key trip!

My vote is for CG, but I might be biased. We had our wedding reception dinner there and now go for every anniversary. If you time your ADR just right, you can experience Wishes from atop the Contemporary. The staff may also do a little something extra for your anniversary.
Le Cellier is also a great one.

Just realized you asked for DTD or resort restaurants. Scratch my LeCellier recommendation!

I'd suggest Jiko or Narcoossee's, we did both last year for our 5th aniversery and are going back to both this year since we enjoyed them so much.

What time would I need to do an ADR for CG to get to see Wishes... its a friday night so I might not even be able to get an ADR!

Just looked at CG menu and this is not somewhere hubby would eat! He loves a great steak... with fries of course ;) But nothing too "out there".. he is a basic kinda guy

Sorry, what if we did O'Hanas... could we stay long enough to see Wishes on the beach? That sounds pretty romantic!

We went to Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary Resort for our 16th Anniversary. DH is a Steak & fries guy too, and it was delicious! The steak just melted in your mouth! And the waiter made it a big deal for our Anniv. We even got a glow cube, which thrilled DS-13 to death!!!!

If you did CG and wanted to see Wishes, try to book a ressie no more than two hours out. Even if you don't get a window seat, there is viewing on the roof with the music pumped in. But the menu changes pretty frequently, but no fries! :)
OHana is a good place, but it is loud (and fun) with kids running around with hoola hoop contests and coconut races. I'm not sure if they still do it, but I did hear at one time they also played the music for Wishes during the fireworks.
You can also watch Wishes from the beach of the Poly and the docks of GF.
Oh, and if your hubby likes steak, maybe look into Yachtsman or Artist Point (love Artist Point)

We had our 12th anniversary dinner last year at Artist Point. It was pretty good. It is expensive but our waiter was wonderful and really made us feel special. Wilderness Lodge is beautiful too!

My suggestion would be California Grill!

We went a couple of weeks ago for our Anniversary, they did a cute little dessert for us and sprinkled little mickey confetti on the table for us. At first, DH was disappointed because the restaurant was so noisy (I had already been forwarned about this) (by the way, we found Jiko as noisy), and it was very busy which is also normal. BUT, it didn't take long and DH was loving it, our waiter was awesome, the chef came out to talk with us, and the food was FANTASTIC! We would put this meal right up there with some of the best meals we have ever had. (if you like sushi, you have to have it)

Funny thing is that I had booked our reservation so that we could watch the fireworks while we were there, but there was NO way I could get DH to budge, he said we can watch the fireworks anytime, he was just loving everything else and wanted no part of the fireworks :rotfl:

Also, leave yourself some time here, don't rush your meal.
