I'm looking at one of these two tents. We do have a 5th wheel, so this will be used only on those times we want to pull the boat instead of the camper - and at Ft Wilderness as an overflow tent.

I have a 60.00 credit at Cabela's - that is why I was looking at that store. I could use the 60.00 towards sleeping bags or something and buy the tent elsewhere.

I need it to sleep 2 adults and one tween/teen.

We would get the 10 x 10 - lots of reviews on this one.

this one
I can't find any reviews at all. It is bigger - but is it too big?

I would get the bigger one. I like the awning. When it's raining it's nice to have that when you're getting in and out of the tent. My experience with tents has been that if they say it sleeps 2, that's exactly what they mean. That doesn't include gear for 2 people.

Those both seem awfully high in price.

My latest tent purchase was an Ozark Trail 10x13 Dome tent. (From Wal-Mart) Plenty tall to stand up in. Only about $50

I've owned Ozark Trail tents for years. With a little care they have lasted me for years.

Thanks for the opinion. That's the one my husband wants too. It just concerned me that I couldn't find any reviews. It's a 179.00 tent on sale for 129.00 - then less my 60.00 credit. (Yes, money is a consideration:) )

Any other opinions?

Along those lines of thinking, I could buy a less expensive tent elsewhere - and spend my 60.00 credit on a sleeping bag or inflatable pad.

clkelly - What about the size of the 10 x 13? That isn't too big for post tent pads is it?

We have an 8X8 (supposed to sleep 4)like the first one. We used it when our son was a baby and there were just the three of us. My husband and I are both small, of course the baby didn't take up much space; but we still kept most of our stuff in the car because of lack of space. We got a large tent when our son started getting bigger and only use the old tent if it's two of us camping for a night or two at a race track.

I'd definitely go with the larger, but I would look at Walmart. I only paid about $100 for our large 3 room tent and it has held up great.

Not at all!!

I've only seen a couple of preferred tent pads that would not hold 1 tent, and those have been probably upgraded to premium.

Looks like Cabelas has the tent I bought off Amazon in stock...

With tents you do get what you pay for. If you only want to camp in sunny weather then a $50 tent will do. However if you want to be prepared for rain and wind along with better ventilation then you have to spend more. For even more than the tent I got you can get one that is good for freezing conditions although those typically cost $400+.

I would personally say use your credit to get the bags and other stuff. We have gotten our two tents from Target and they were cheaper then the ones you have listed. Both of ours are able to fit 2 queen air beds.
