Need a fun, easy ice breaker for our church youth group tonight. The kids are having a fall festival so I'd like to do something fun......if I had the supplies I do bobbing for........(need new (never used before) toilet, moutain dew and miniture milky ways)..........but it's to hard to come up with the new toilet.

Anyone got any ideas. Maybe I'll do the mummy wrap......do you think they would like this?

sorry, bobbing for anything is kinda ewwwwww

we used this at a shower and a work function, may translate well to kids

everyone had a name of a famous someone taped to their back. They then had to ask people questions to get clues to who they were. You can only ask each person one question, then on to the next

SOme examples were:

King Kong (thought that one streteched it, but it was funny)
Famous authors
Historical figures
actors/actresses

you could do a theme with this relevant to any age. Cartoon characters, artists, famous tv characters, politicians :scared: , etc

good luck and have fun!

I like the one where everyone stands in a circle and then turns to the left, so they're facing the back of the person next to them. Everyone stands fairly closer together, and tries to sit on the knees of the person behind them..... it forces people to work together and to actually touch one another, so I find that it is a really good ice breaker.

I don't like any kind of "bobbing" for stuff - yuck.

At my dd's slumber party we did the mummy wrap with tp. They had alot of fun. We went thru alot of tp though. The girls were all 8/9 years old. Not sure if older kids would think this was fun.

I agree with the "ick" factor of bobbing for anything, plus some may not want to get their face wet.

One thing we did at a work event that was a lot of fun and really broke the ice was this:

Everyone write down on a piece of paper something that nobody knows about you. Then give it to the facilitator. That person reads them one at a time out loud and everyone has to guess who wrote it. It was a ton of laughs and we found out some really funny stuff about each other. Some examples were: one woman was stuck in an elevator for 2 hours with steve perry(from Journey), one guy was a certified mixologist, one woman had a degree in history, one woman was related to a famous actor, and another guy was fluent in Mandarin. Not sure how it would work with kids, depending on their age. If they are teens it may work.

Get off the bus:

Start up a list of either/or words or phrases (examples: dog/cat, night/day, reading/writing, book/television, running/walking, leading/following, etc).

Lay out a rope or something straight onto the floor and have everybody line up "on the bus."

The leader will give the either/or words, raising their left or right hand to indicate which side to move, and then say "get off the bus" and see which side everyone chooses.

Then say "back on the bus" and start over again.

Pretty popular with adolescents, but it gets old after a while.

Another one:

Wink murder. Pick 1 kid to be a detective and they leave the room. Everyone else sits in a circle with their eyes closed. You walk around the circle and tap one person on the shoulder to be the murderer. Detective comes back in. The murderer has to wink at the victim and then the victim has to fall over dead (they can get really creative with this). The detective has to try to catch the murderer in the act or figure it out by process of elimination.

It gets funny after a couple of rounds when they're not expecting it to pick two murderers.
