Need an Alamo expert please

Hi. I just had a couple of questions for ya- I was told in another thread (which I lost of course) that Alamo does indeed have a "skip the counter" type program now, sort of like National's Emerald Aisle. Can you please tell me how I go about getting that? I have existing reservations and just became a *********** member today. I thought I had another question but now I can't remember it... Thanks!

Alamo allows for online checkin now for all customers as long as you are not using a rate code that requires proof of membership or a coupon. Check your reservation, you may be able to check in without using the membership

So since I have a coupon there isn't any way to avoid the counter like with Emerald Aisle? When I used National I was able to just give them my coupon at the exit booth.

There are exceptions to using the online check in. If you use a coupon or voucher code, rent a specialty(SUV) car or need additional equipment(car seat) you cannot use the online check in. There are other exceptions that you can find on Alamo's website. But, like ktglads writes, you can always give it a try. If it doesn't work then you know you will need to check in at the counter. The line shouldn't be too bad since you are a quick silver member.

Is it their online coupon or from a different location? I have used the Alamo online one and could online checkin with that. I have not tried another coupon on an Alamo reservation before.

So far it's their online coupon, I'm keeping my eye out for a better one (possibly getting the Entertainment Book). So let's just say that I'm unable to check-in online- what do I do as a Quick-silver member?

ETA- Why do they filter that? It cracks me up everytime! I must lead a sheltered life...

EATA- I am renting a midsize SUV, does that count as specialty?
