DH & I just booked our Dec. 08 trip today and now we are trying to decide about which ADR's to plan. It will be just the two of us. We're both in our 50's. We are trying to decide on one of these signature restaurants. The only one that we have already tried is Artist's Point and we loved that. But we thought we might need to try something new. We are trying to decide on one of these signature restaurants. Which would you choose and why?

Been to three of the 5. Artist Point, first time was okay, second time excellent. Flying Fish didn't impress us, but it could have been our waiter, the desserts were wonderful. Ca.Grill, been there 4 times, the one trip we didn't go there my wife wanted to know what was wrong with me. And don't overlook Jiko either! Where you're staying can be a factor. Resort to resort travel can be a bear.

We will be staying at Saratoga Springs (our home resort). We have planned two nonpark days so we thought it would be a good time to incorporate a very nice, relaxing dinner in the mix. We will have our car so travel won't be a problem, or we can jump on a resort bus from Downtown Disney since we will be close.

I have been at all of them and I picked Narcoossee's. The food is very good in a relaxed atmosphere. Plus, the view of the MK during dinner can't be beat!

I've been to all of these. And the most recent was Artist Point. I enjoyed it, but I still missed...

California Grill.

It's interesting that the chef I loved at Flying Fish is now the current exec chef at California Grill. Just sayin'. ;)

I did a food and wine signature dinner event at California Grill in October, and it was fantastic. But now I want to return and get something off its usual menu.

My DH and I love Narcoosee. We've been there 4 or 5 times and have never had a bad meal. The atmosphere and the view (Magic Kingdom and the Contemporary from across the lake) is beautiful. It can be a little noisy but the excellent food and the service certainly overshadow the little bit of noise.

Also, if you can manage to get a reservation around the time of the MK fireworks, Narcoosee, in my humble opinion, is one of the best places to see them. Your view is totally unobstructed and the audio is piped into the restaurant. If you haven't been seated yet or are already done with dinner, you can sit on the veranda at Narcoossee's to watch the fireworks. It's great!

Well, mine is simply opinion on what I would do because we haven't eaten at any of those choices. I almost chose Citrico's because I've wanted to try it so badly. But, based on reviews I have read, I voted on California Grill. They seem to be the most consistent with good service and excellent food.

The only restaurant on your list that the hubby and I haven't tried yet is Citricos and the only one we wouldn't go back to is Artist Point.

CA Grill, Flying Fish, and Narcoosee's are all excellent options but I had to go with FF - they have a wonderful seafood menu, terrific service, and a playful restaurant decor that makes dining there a lot of fun for us.

We won't go back to Artist Point either. We tried it twice and it was just "eh" ... nothing to write home about. Citrico's was very good, but we were seated next to a large Italian family who was very loud. Every time they would start to simmer down another family member would arrive and sit down at an empty seat and they would all start up again in loud Italian. It was almost comical. Almost. I won't hold that against Citroco's though as it wasn't their fault. I found the food to be very good and the atmosphere to be the stuffiest of the lot.

BTW, if you're on the DDP and have a hankering for lobster I want to say "Narcoossee's" yet again. I had the whole Maine lobster and my DH had the surf and turf. Both were excellent, but very pricey!

CA Grill for two - romantic (tell them it's your anniversary)

Our choices:
Oak-fired Filet of Beef with Roasted Root Vegetables, Edamame and Teriyaki Barbecue Sauce 36.00

Pacific Halibut with Exotic Rice Blend, Haricot Vert, Yellow Wax Beans, Confit Tomatoes and Lobster Sauce 31.00

and we share...
Valrhona Chocolate and Coffee - Warm Chocolate Cake with Molten Center, House-made White Coffee Ice Cream and Cappuccino Anglaise 10.00

If you do CA Grill around 8 PM - you will be bale to have coffee and dessert in time for the fireworks. CA Grill dims the lights - so all can see them well.

All worth the money.
Hey we are almost both in our 50's too. DH just made it - I am next in 2 years !
