My DS is now a junior in high school. Every time we have asked about a senior trip or graduation present he has said he wants a family trip to WDW.
My DS also plans to sign papers for the Air Force this summer so this may very well be our last family trip for a couple of years.
I am a teacher and the trip being during his senior year and DD 8th grade year I don't want to take them out of school for more than one or two days. That said I need help deciding on travel days.
We have traveled to WDW twice during Christmas (LOVED IT) and know the crowd level. We have traveled in January during a soccer tournament, and during the summer (NEVER AGAIN).
The first and last day will be travel days with no park time. My DH is a third shifter so we have to return on Sat, so he can be at work on Sun. So all of that limits our options to...
1. Oct 11-Oct 18, 2014. (7 park days) Pros: Low crowds (I think), close to DD birthday, MNSSHP, and lower prices. Cons: Due to DS football game less park time.
2. Dec 18-Dec 29, 2014. (10 park days) Pros: most park time, Christmas at WDW, DH plant shut down and no school. Cons: High crowd level, most expensive time, not spending Christmas with extended family.
3. March 26-April 4, 2015. (9 park days) Pros: More time to save for trip, nice weather. Cons: Easter week, very busy crowds, expensive time of the year.
When I polled my family everyone picked a different day. DS picked March.
So those who have traveled during these times how do you feel they measure up? Thanks in advance for all your advise!!!
