NEED ADVISE/HELP re: transfers/renting

Would anyone be willing to pass along some do's and don'ts concerning transferring or renting out points? I've read all the "warnings" but still don't feel totally comfortable doing a transaction. We need to explore this situation due to some medical bills, otherwise I'd never get rid of our points. Thanks for the help.
 
Above all, make sure you are comfortable with all aspects of the transaction. As the member who controls the points, be certain that you personally are satisfied with any agreement about how your points are disposed of- including payment arrangements, cancellation policy and amount of the transaction. Since you are in full control of your points, only you can protect your own interests.

You may want to consider only transferring points rather than renting to a non-member. It would be easier on you since once you recieve the money and the transfer is done, there's nothing else for you to do. But, by renting the points, you have a lot more to do.

Just something to think about.
 
thanks Doc & Jodytg. I am leaning towards transfers if possible but still going through all the posts and contract. This is really tough for me but I don't like bills hanging over my head. Can't bring myself to let go of all of them, hoping for '06 early Christmas trip. Wish me luck :Pinkbounc
