Today I called to get rates through Disney central reservations. I was quoted using an AAA discount for travel 7/10-7/15/06 for AKL 5 nights @ $970.00 including tax. I figured a 3 day hopper pass $824.00, and based food expense off of eating at a buffet/ table service, a counter service, and a snack for (like the Disney dinning plan) for DH, DD, and DS for the 5 days to total $1007.00. Then air the best I could find was about $1300.00 out of Des Moines. I called Alligent air, which is the cheapest and non-stop, but rates are not out yet. They said sometime in the fall or early spring.

Then I called the AAA office here in Des Moines. They called me with a quote of $3940.00. This includes air from Des Moines (leaving at 6:30am and getting to Disney @ 12:30 PM), 4 nights at AKL, dinning option, 3 day hopper pass, insurance, and towncar transport from airport to AKL. I know there 1 day short and she’s getting back to me with how much more for another day.

Question is --- Do I take the AAA office package price of $3940.00? Do I book just the AKL on it’s own with the AAA discount and hope for a better rate and change later? Do I hold off on air to see if it’ s cheaper later on? Usually a good price from dsm is $209-249 roundtrip. Or am I just booking things too early.

I just priced out the package that you described (only adding the 1 missing day, using DME instead of towncar service, air transportation via AA) and came up with a rack package rate of $2987.85. (A savannah view comes to $3433.95 - Deluxe savannah bunk bed room is $3796.35)

The AAA package seems very high unless they quoted you a concierge room
